Pos hour: FIRST congrats that’s amazing that you got the job!!! 2nd - I’m in nursing school too (I’m a junior tho) and I just got hired as a CNA on a neuro/ICU floor! It’s definitely gonna be a challenge but I’m excited to get more patient interaction since I haven’t been really able to cause of COVID.
thank you anon!!!! congrats to you as well!!!! you will get SUCH amazing experience. i got a semester and a half of clinicals in pre-covid and i learned more in my first WEEK as a patient care tech (basically cna) than i did in ANY of those clinicals. it is TRULY the most valuable experience you can have in my opinion, because like you said it’s wayyyyyy more patient interaction, just gets you comfortable talking to patients and being in a hospital, and also helps you learn what kind of nurse you want to be in terms of how nurses treat CNA’s ;) you can always tell who was a CNA first and who wasn’t
