“Y’see, um. Thing is, not everyone does. I mean, on here I ain’t really got any negative comments on it, so I ain’t really that worried ‘bout hidin’ it, but... Well, there’s uh. There’s a lot of stereotypes that get shoved on people who sound the way I sound, and I... I got treated like I was stupid a lot just for havin’ my accent, even when it came to cookin’—and I’m the Ultimate in that for pity’s sake!

Plus there was a lot of name callin’, assumptions ‘bout me and my family, what kind of people we were, just a bunch of vile things bein’ said ‘bout people I didn’t want ‘em said about. And you know what else? Nobody called me a chef when I didn’t hide my accent. Second I started doin’ that, they offered up callin’ me a chef on their own. I got sick and tired of bein’ treated a certain way because of somethin’ insignificant as an accent, so I changed it. Didn’t know what else to do, y’know? Wasn’t like I was grown when the bullyin’ started and I sure as hell didn’t know what else to do seein’ how bein’ wildly talented in my field wasn’t enough.

Now that I ain’t bein’ treated like I’m just some backwoods hick idiot who can’t do nothin’ right, i ain’t so careful, but old habits still die hard. That’s all.”
