Longtime HIV activist and author Sean Strub made an appearance Wednesday evening, March 12, at TPAN to share his experiences as a young gay man living at the dawn of the AIDS epidemic. Strub read from his new book, Body Counts—A Memoir of Politics, Sex, AIDS, and Survival, and offered his thoughts on what it means to be living with HIV today. In a wide-ranging yet intimate and candid discussion, Strub addressed such HIV-related topics as stigma and self-empowerment, PrEP, and how younger gay men can learn from the experiences of those who have been living for years with HIV. The evening was moderated by Positively Aware editor Jeff Berry.
