Wood carving positive mold of Hyottoko mask (Dealer: Sezuan antiques & art) – Making for papier mache mask of Hyottoko. Meiji-Showa period, 19th – early 20th century, Japan. approx. L 20cm (7.87in) Hyottoko was originally from clown mask of China and Korea as its roots, then Japanized as the guardian god of stove for its blowing-up face like for building a fire.
