How to effectively reward your dog
CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT A new lawsuit against Pet Safe e-collar manufacturers alleges they are not safe for dogs. I'm not sure when e-collars became so popular in "training" dogs, I wish they would just stop making them all together. I have never seen a dog that was actually helped by one of these things, regardless of what many clients May think. It actually adds to a dog's stress and can cause serious harm. I've seen dogs with PTSD because of this. This also includes invisible fences. I'm sure we're going to see more of these lawsuits as time progresses. I want to be a trainer and that’s the reason why I made this group. I know that there are probably people like me who want to be a trainer, but think that they can’t because they’re blind or have disabilities, but that’s one of the reasons why I made this group so that there is resources and people to help us Achieve that dream and give us the resources that we need. #forcefreedogtraining #positivereinforcementdogtraining #fearfreedogtraining #sciencebaseddogtraining #dogtraining #blind #visuallyimpaired #legallyblind #disabled #disabilities https://www.facebook.com/groups/303261141692162/?ref=share https://www.instagram.com/p/CjDkSyiL4uy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Great article in Psychology Today about why we need to educate dog owners about force free training and how it benefits the relationship between a dog and their person. I'm a big advocate for positive reinforcement training, no aversives! #cosmopolitanpetcharlotte #cosmopolitanpet #superiorpetsittingservice #forcefreetraining #positivereinforcementdogtraining #bekind https://www.instagram.com/p/CZ18Y3IutKj/?utm_medium=tumblr

Train your dog with positive reinforcement [great bond guaranteed]
Training Allie vs. training Luna: I love how positive reinforcement-based training works with all dogs! Both my dogs have “paw” trained but Allie is chill about it, whereas Luna has Baggage™️around paw-handling. Here we’re working on having the dog scratch a nail file (aka a plastic bin cut in half with sandpaper glued on it) to shorten their nails. Like usual, Allie picks up the game quickly. With Luna, I have to be a little more strategic with marking/rewarding her for getting closer and closer to the desired behavior. I intersperse a lot of sniffing opportunities in between reps by throwing Luna’s reward in the grass. And both dogs do great! #dogtraining #dogtrainer #positivereinforcement #positivereinforcementdogtraining #nailtrim #dognailtrim #dog #ilovemydog #acd #cattledog #lab #labrador https://www.instagram.com/p/CFiVFdWpvEg/?igshid=72sz0x4vxpb5
