Practice saying ‘I get to’ instead of ‘I have to’.
It’ll make chores sound fun and you’ll be thinking more positively about what you don’t want to do.
For example, ‘I get to go to work’ instead of ‘I have to go to work’.

Hello! Here’s some self care advice! This may sound cynical but personally it has been working for me, so: I usually tell myself that being mean to myself isn’t going to make anything better, so being gentle with myself is literally step #1 towards handling anything difficult. That way, if I don’t fix the thing that was bothering me, at least I was nice to myself about it. Does it make sense?
Something else I’ve been doing is trying to find (at least) 3 things I like about myself / 3 things I’m grateful for while I am brushing my teeth! I’ve read that linking together an already established habit with another one I want to incorporate makes it easier to develop new good habits and it’s true! You can do this sort of thing with anything that you already do on the daily, you’re basically turning self love into a scheduled task so you are more likely to stick to it.
I hope this helps, have a nice day :)
Yes, this helps! Thank you lovely for the advice x
my therapist told me to come up with or choose an existing fictional character who I could imagine telling me things that I can't yet have as positive thoughts myself, like a wise old wizard or a kind supportive grandma
so now this little halfling woman who was my first ever dungeons & dragons character and is the perfect balance of those two character archetypes sits on my desk and tells me that I'm okay 😂
Ah darling I love this idea xxx
