She hadn't been out in a few weeks now. Everytime she had there had been people with worrisome emotions trailed her. Even without Ho-oh to tune her the hearts of those around her there were a number of times her training alerted her to the trailing individuals. The one thing she hadn’t been able to narrow down was why. They weren’t filled with insatiable curiosity like the paparazzi, combine that with their general skills, and other mixed in emotions of malicious intent, and she couldn’t help being anything but worried. Following their emotions out of all others in the crowd had been the easy part. The harder part had been cornering the perpetrators. They seemed to have a million ways to leave the scene which was worrying to her. Last time she had actually managed it too. Trapping the person, and easily over powering them with her own combat skills along with her pokemon had been no problem. However when she began to question them a diversion was caused by someone else in the group by dragging her into another battle before making the escape with their friend. All of this lead her to believe they had a budget to work with and people to provide back up.

Opting for safety she had simply decided to lock herself up in the league for about three weeks now. She had hide away there before just fine many times over. After all she already lived there with the rest of the league, so everything she needed to survive was there. It simply wasn't living though, and her restless spirit had about enough of this waiting around. 

What she could really go for was a fly at night like she had grown used to doing at least twice or three times a month. The last time she had though the odd group of followers had began to trickle into the scene. For now it seemed staying grounded was her best choice as she wove around the streets of Goldenrod simply enjoying being out and about again. 

Either they have developed a way to avoid my ability to read hearts, or they’ve given up. I would say chances lean to the latter since no one has ever managed the former.

Karen rolled her eyes at the bird’s haughty tone as it echoed in her head. It was annoying to be the only one who could hear the old legendary’s words at all times. If the elite could figure a way to shut her off she would. Personally she wouldn’t put it past humanity to figure something out. Granted whomever these people were they probably had no idea any of the details when it came to all of this. So while Ho-oh was likely right, there was a chance that eventually something could be developed. 

Continuing her stroll as the bird rambled away, which she usually did, Karen gradually began to feel something. At a distance it felt like a familiar energy, Silver’s to be exact. There was something to it though, something off such as it being duller which was common the older one was. Her instincts began to kick in as she stepped without any faltering not wanting to let the person know that she had picked up on them. The emotions were an odd mix with most of the more intense ones buried down into a state of repression or redirected into other areas. What stood out to her though was anticipation directed at her, and she was staying vigilante for what that entailed.

Ho-oh!Karen/Possession verse

Heard we were talking legendary merged with humans on the dash and just gonna slide the fact that possession verse is open for interaction.

The unholy horror that is human experimentation mixed with pryce trying to resurrect pokemon. Cause Karen and Will were failing the ritual way he though merging them with the legegendaries would solve the problem thus they're now merged with the legendary pokemon and no one is happy with the current arrangement.

My favorite thing about Possession!verse

you have Karen and Will attempting science, neither of them have a good education heck Karen left school early and like the pokemon world is already not the greatest at education since kids run off at 10.

so their lab is full of like,’Chemistry for dummies,’ ‘Biology for middle school,’ and then of cousre since they’re trying to work on the combination of souls and minds you have psychology books sure but also,’meta magic and basic ritual casting.’

What i’m trying to say is that the science gets.......concerning.

TW: Animal experimentation 

‘It had better not hurt like the last time.’

“I’m going to make the safe bet, and say it’s going to hurt. The hopeful question is that it works.”

She sighed taking over the body once more. When it was simply Will and Lugia with her both the bird and Karen often traded control sparing the two energy it would take to slip into their joined mind to read thoughts. Besides these days they were so used to the conjoined set up there really wasn’t a single host. Simply an agreed upon understanding the person at the front who was the best person in the driver seat at the moment. 

As for what they were doing everything was set up in the lab they’d sneakily carved out under the league. The two rattata’s scuttled about in the same cage with a feather on top of each, there were 2 sentret in cages in front of each of them on the edges of a ring, a ring they’d spent far too many hours recreating the intricate details of the design out from memory on the floor out of chalk, and both of them across from each other. Karen calmly wrote down a few more notes marking the times for one. If they could finally manage a successful combination of heart and soul, repeating what happened to them, they could make progress on undoing it. So far working backwards had gotten no where. No where except alot of screaming from all 4 parties involved. 

“Alright, combination experiment number 1. Ho-oh and Lugia since you two have control of your actions this time it’s up to you two to start the process.”

Possession!Verse

She glances at the last questions and pauses.

“Wait...is it possible I would I lay eggs?”

Shouldn’t. At least I wouldn’t think so, our link is less biological than it is in essence despite us only having one body. Then again it’s not as if I can speak from any experience with this never happening before.

Possession verse commentary

“You know alot of things about being merged with Ho-oh suck. On the positive side I some how don’t have to deal with anything like ‘heat’.”

(tbh it’s cause the fusion focused on the combination of hearts, not bodies, so she’s chillin. Course she doesn’t know the specifics of the bond tho.)

Possession Verse: Ability’s

So I’ve already talked about how physically Ho-oh and Karen affect each other when it comes to energy. I wanna get more specific however on the ‘powers’ if you will that karen has with Ho-oh.

Flames: Yes she can attack with fire. They simply manifest in her hands, and due to being part of the sacred flame she can either shoot them out or control a wisp to float around. Once a fire is made though only she can put it out since those of the flame can’t go out. Naturally there is a limit to her fire power though. She can at most make 5 wisps in a day with 3 going at once, and as for large scale projectile flames she can currently do about 25 in a day if she hasn’t done anything so far. 

Flight: Karen herself can not fly. She either has to has Ho-oh’s full form or agree with Ho-oh to have equal share over the body to go into a mid transformation state. Again this mid way state is rare since neither of them really get along well with the other. 

Sensing Hearts: That is the general term for her ability to essentially read a crowd. No matter where she goes she can pick up on the general state of a person, and how they’re doing. Some trends are common such as older people’s hearts being not as strong, family connections often have familiar patterns to them, species is also something that she can pick up on, and general proximity to her.  Emotional states: This one connects to the hearts, so I’m gonna keep it in roughly the same area. Basically she knows what emotions someone is feeling at any given time. She may not know why someone is feeling a certain way, but she knows what they’re feeling. Her best guesses on why someone is feeling a certain way usually come from her training, or if the emotions are directed at someone in the area which she can pick up on. Stronger emotions, or strong repression of emotions also catch her attention more with one feeling like alerts in her mind and the other almost suffocating if intense enough.  Emotional Manipulation: The most dangerous ability she has is this. Again Karen can’t force emotion into people, but she can use what is there to her advantage. If there is an emotion someone is feeling she can either suppress or intensify it. If someone is not currently feeling said emotion and she wants them to feel it to twist it to her advantage she usually probes them into feeling slightly, and then drags it from there. If the person is aware that she’s doing it then it often becomes harder for her to try again since they will be more thoughtful on their emotions the next time. This is why she usually subtle when doing it. 

Resurrection: While it is technically possible Karen has avoided doing as much as she possibly can. The one time she did it on a plant it took alot of energy, and she found out that when resurrected things can’t return to how they left. Anything resurrected by Ho-oh comes back altered in some way, and is not the same as before. Whether it’s good or bad is a matter of opinion but Karen personally doesn’t want to tempt fate. 

Summoning the Beasts: Karen herself cannot summon Raikou, Entei, or Suicune. Ho-oh has to be in control for this to happen. Also it has only been done once as a test, and been reserved for emergencies otherwise where they maybe in danger. The process itself isn’t hard simply involving Ho-oh tracing a symbol in the right place. For Entei it has to be on dry earth, for Raikou it has to be drawn in the air under the sky, and for Suicune it has to be in water that connects to a body of water. (so no clogging a sink wouldn’t work) 

Disadvantages of these powers not mentioned: Some of these are mentioned in their descriptions but here’s some food for thought. When tracking someone if she looses sight of them she can just follow their hearts. However if suddenly she ends up in a crowd all feeling strong emotions she can’t follow them due to how many signals are coming in at once. Also while she maybe able to sense organic things robots and technology doesn’t have a heart. If she is is being watched by something like a camera she will have no idea that it’s there since she can’t sense that. Finally there is the overarching issue with Karen and Ho-oh’s inability to get along. Karen barely has main control over the body. If riled up enough Ho-oh can take over control. When she is riled Karen has to spend some energy and mental focus on keeping the bird under control which can distract her from her surroundings. Oh, and with the fire, yes there are times she forgot that one was still burning and not only did it exhaust her steadily but also caused an impressive fire in the league.
