Oh god. I just had a TERRIBLE thought.
What if Rumlow and Cameron had a #thing. Like it wasn't anything serious, at least for Rumlow. Anything at all is huge for Cameron. He thrives off of any attention even if it isn't healthy. Poor baby. It could have been as small as Rumlow making a suggestive comment to him once or maybe something happened. Something that no one would ever know about. IDK.
I'm just rewatching the scene and just.....the way he gives Cameron a tiny almost miniscule nod of encouragement when Cameron turns to look at him after he gives the order to launch the ships.
The way he gives a little sigh after Cameron tells him 'no, Captain's orders'. He looks disappointed.
And Cameron won't look at him. Just keeping his eyes on the screen.
Just.... Cameron is having feelings.
Even if it is just a little crush he had. It is a complicated moment for so many reasons but my brain wants to add more torture to the moment. I am SO SORRY Cameron, bby.
