A Businessman and a Lawyer || A!U
––「王子」 Tamaki stood beside the desk of his father at Suou Headquarters. Yuzuru was on the phone with another client, wrapping up the call. The blond looked out the window behind them, the business talk turning into droning background noise. From the high floor it was hard to make out the small figures walking through the courtyard entrance. All dressed in business attire, like well dressed ants. The thought of such made the male in his mid-twenties chuckle to himself.
"Tamaki," the husky voice of the patriarch pulled the blond out of his daydream with the sound of his name. "That was the law firm. They're sending a lawyer over to discuss the claim. I want you to handle it. I think you're ready."
"Aa, yes," he replied with a bow of his head. Not only was that an order from his boss, but one from his father who had faith in him. He did not want his faith to be wasted.
Later that afternoon, Tamaki sat in the conference room where he would await the lawyer. He double checked the paperwork in front of him to refresh his memory on the claim. It seemed that several months ago, a man was let go from his position just before his potential promotion could go in effect. Photographs of vandalized property, from graffiti to broken windows and destroyed landscapes, were paper clipped to the yellow folder. Medical reports were also to be seen as he flipped through the file.
"So, he's seeking help for depression," he said to himself since he was the only one in the room at the present. "I feel for him... It must be hard for him to support his family, but that doesn't give him an excuse for damaging what doesn't belong to him. It only makes things harder for--"
His audience-less monolog was cut short by the sound of the door opening. Quickly tossing the papers back into the folder, he stood to greet the new face with a bow and a professional smile.
"Hello, you must be the lawyer. I'm Suou Tamaki, my father asked me to speak with you in his place. I must apologize for him, you see he is a very busy man. It's a pleasure to be working with you."
