Does Shade purr?

Shade does not purr, however, they do make sounds very similar to it. See, I head canon that while Shade is made of void, they are not 100% void. Their ‘eyes’ contain soul, but soul and void don’t really like to mix, so no matter what happens Shade is always emitting a purr-like sound that is made from the vibrations caused by soul and void being forced to mix.

When Shade is calm or relaxed, their soul and void tend to coexist mostly peacefully. Thought or intent isn’t being poured into it, so both substances have no true reason to react with anymore energy than it takes to daydream. That said, when Shade is angry or in states of high emotion, intent is flooding through both the soul and void, causing them both to react violently with one another in an angry, low sounding buzz that can possibly disrupt their physical form. Thankfully, due to the nature of Shade, states of high emotion are rare.

Back to the subject of purring though, if a lesser being were to pet Shade, I’m sure they’d enjoy it with enough happiness to emit a small purr-like noise.
