kinda a long shot but i’m tryna find an old fic: i only remember the beginning but it involved mickey faking his death, and he was supposed to tell ian before he heard the news, but police came to ian’s house and told him mickey was dead so he didn’t know it was fake and thought he was really dead (they later reunite in a van or something because the people that work for him had to fake kidnap ian to reunite them? )

Hey... It seems like maybe a mix of several fics? 

Mickey fakes his death in Sometimes something like fate exists and before he can tell Ian, Ian hears about it in the police report on the news while he’s at home with Fiona.

The second part of it sounds like Love Like Winter, the kidnapping and the reunion in the van, but without the fake death aspect.

Mickey also fakes his death in 100 letters - When Ian hears the news of Mickey's death 7 months after leaving him at the Mexican border, he goes into a bipolar episode that seems like he may never recover from. But when envelopes of money show up for him he starts to rethink the possibility that Mickey is actually gone.

But I think what you’re thinking is the mix of the first two fics :)

I’ve been putting off reading this fic for so long, and now I’m beating myself up because wow. It was great and definitely out of the box, as anything by this author. Grown-up Yevgeny’s POV on his ex-con father and his ex-con father’s bipolar boyfriend who Svetlana has never told him about - that was not at all what Yevgeny expected. (It was also not at all what I had expected :D). Great writing and interesting characterization. I laughed and I cried. Very recommend.

Is there any fic that concentrate on Mickey's life in Mexico and end up to him coming back to Ian but doesn't involve OC/Mickey?

We received two Mexico asks, this and one other one that specificed Ian going with him but it’s just completely missing from the drafts where I had it! So I’m going to combine them and I’m so sorry if the one is missing detail requests, but if so - shoot us another one!

This prompt’s a little hard, because most fics that fit it do have OC/Mickey. This is what we got:

That Milkovich Reputation Mickey would have an easier time swallowing his sentence if he’d actually meant to commit attempted murder. Then again, if he’d meant to, then that wasn’t what he’d be going down for. If he’d meant to, Sammi Slott would already be dead. Chapter 6: Finding Jesus, is a detailed account of his time in Mexico.

Our Stubborn Love After years of being separated, Ian and Mickey try to find their way back to each other. 

Seconds Mickey gets out after nine years and moves on with his life. It’s a WIP and it’s not about Ian and Mickey getting back together, but it’s a very good fic.

dried ink Mickey is released after nine years and starts living with Svetlana and it works out in the end :)
