Post Program Euphoria
Every year after my Music Programs are over there is a sense of relief and happiness that is only associated with the freedom of fantastically making music with my students.
I usually get several emails from parents gushing about the programs, people stop me EVERYWHERE in Small Town telling me that they loved the program for several weeks after, my Principal also receives a few emails in the gushing format. If they receive any hate/negative emails, I don’t ever know....I wonder, maybe I should ask!?!?
Anyway, this year a Parent, yes, A PARENT emailed my District Superintendent (who forwarded it to me) just gushing about the program and me as a music teacher and how the district is lucky to have me as a teacher.
I don’t blog about this to “raise my ego” at all. I am still kinda in shock...someone actually took the time to go above my Principal, above the Assistant Superintendent to the Head Honcho to single me out in such a positive manner.
I really don’t like the notoriety. I value living under the radar and my privacy, but that email....
Humbled and Euphoric.
