thinking about klance. thinking about lance he NEEDS keith there after the war, he needs to see him and be around him because just no one is the same as keith. lance who's mourning his girlfriend, and the only person he wants there with him is keith. but also thinking about keith who isn't ready to stay still and face the after effects the war had on his mental state. thinking about keith who NEEDS to stay occupied, who cannot be stagnant for too long so staying on earth is just a big no-no for him
thinking about keith who wants to be there for lance, he maybe even tried to stay but he got so restless so quickly and just couldn't stay any longer. lance who is understanding of keiths need to leave, yet again, but is literally hysterical in tears because the ONLY person he wants to be there cant be there
keith checks in with him as often as he can, but keith is a busy man now that hes with the Blades and there isn't much time. whenever he is free, its super late for lance or its only for a short time. he does his best, but his best isnt what lance needs because lance needs him on earth. lance needs to be held by him, but he cant get that, and both of them feel bad that they're not what the other person needs.
keith, somebody thats very selfless despite the front he puts up, wants more than anything to be there for lance but he just CANNOT do it. the war left him fucked up, as it did the rest of the paladins, and hes never been good at confronting his emotions head on so now is no different. lance who has always been emotional and physically affectionate, and now it feels so much worse. he has his friends, his family, but he still feels so isolated
