BLAIR ANDERSON
It was the longest subway ride in Blair’s memory from her apartment up to midtown, where lo and behold, there she’d wait for her sister. For whatever reason, the restaurant with its viral milkshakes still had a line out the door, but since it was an odd time on a Friday, the line wasn’t too bad. It would be a good chance for them to catch up before they sat and were forced to eat a meal together. Of course, the last time that had happened, in Blair’s memory, was when her parents had kicked her out of the house, and Chloe, in the goodness of her heart, housed her.
How the mighty had fallen.
In all honesty, Blair felt horrible about the way that Chloe had been treated online by several of her friends, and knew that it was no way for her sister to be welcomed into New York. Hell, Blair could just as easily chastise herself for being so frosty, but she had honestly thought that New York was her place, her safe haven, and to have Chloe there sort of made her feel as if she needed to close in on herself. She was so used to being compared to her older sister, that she could no longer see any of the good that she had to offer the world.
Blair shoved her hands into her red coat pockets, a white beret atop her head as she made any and every attempt to survive the frigid, February wind tunnels. She hopped online and plugged her earbuds in, wanting to detach from the world momentarily as she attempted to gather her thoughts. What could she say to Chloe?
Soon enough, that moment was upon her, and Blair nervously swallowed as she reached one arm out in a half-hug that was far more awkward than she intended for it to be. “Hey, thank you so much for meeting me,” it felt like she was talking to a business colleague. “How was your day? Is the show still in pre-production, or did you get to show off your acting chops at all?”
