Have you ever read Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham? This is my favourite book from last year and I am pretty sure I'll be rereading it soon. It chought my eye on a list of must-read books, I had never heard of it before and loved it instantly. Took me two nights, I am a slow reader, so this is pretty quick.
It's a postapocalyptic novel where most all people go blind overnight and new societies emerge to fight with some really interesting enemies.
