Fighting the Past: The End of Evangelion...
As Ani phrased it, "talk about a mind fuck."
There's no other way to describe it than that. Borderline moments of child pornography, blood in color and 'squirting' noises, brutal actions from a ruthless military, a destruction of the absolute sense of singular beings, it's just a beautiful experiment in what one version of the end times could be - and the creation of a better world.
At the same time as it being a mind fuck, what this movie tends to represent to me is what I consider partially the mess in my head. It's this constant fight between the want of passion through confused means, as well as the need, the want, the desire of an absolute outlet to destroy the powers that forced me into the mess than I am. It's also about the chance, the momentary thought, of breaking down the walls that I put between myself and others and just being comfortable in this world - and the fear that puts upon myself, the thought of what might just happen if I give up the fight and actually let people into my little world.
If you want to get into my head, this is something to watch. Fair warning, you need to watch the series (Neon Genesis Evangelion) to understand the context better, but once you get through it, you still need to prepare for just how much of a brain fuck the movie really is. It's quite extreme to say the least, making much of what we have look plain cute by comparison.
The self that I present isn't always the self that lies within. I need to change that.
