Bluh just woke up from my post-surgery nap and I wanna say... being put under sedation feels so different than falling asleep, it's like... they give you an injection and a few seconds later you start to feel kinda funny

And then you wake up in another room and three hours have passed

While with falling asleep there's an awareness that you were asleep when you wake up, but the sedation wake up doesn't have that?? It just feels like lost time as opposed to sleep, if that makes sense

Also my mouth hurts like a bitch atm (it was surgery to get my wisdom teeth out)

1 Week Post-op.

As of Wednesday, July 9th, I am one week post-op. and doing really well!

I had my first post-op. appointment on Monday. The physician’s assistant removed the bandages, the drains, and the nipple stents. It did not hurt at all getting my drains removed; only when she cut the stitches that held them in place. It honestly feels like something moving inside of you because, I mean, that’s exactly what’s happening as they take them out. It’s a really weird sensation but it’s over quick, so, you forget it even happened.

I got to see my chest in the mirror for a quick second before my surgeon had to give it a look. There was a small clot on the outside of my left nipple that she removed with tweezers. Unfortunately, the left nipple also started to come up on one side, so, she had to re-sew a stent over it to keep it flush to my skin, again. That was an experience, hahah. She didn’t numb me beforehand, just, did it. But it didn’t hurt more than a pinch and it took about a minute. I got wrapped in another Ace which I am not to take off. It’s driving me crazy - not only is it tight but I haven’t really gotten to appreciate my chest.

I, sadly, am not permitted to shower still, so, it’s been over a week since I’ve taken a proper shower but I’ve managed to keep relatively clean with bath wipes and an over-the-sink hair washing. I go back for my second post-op. appointment on Monday. Hopefully, I’ll get the all clear to shower, drive, and go back to work.

Surgery was this morning and I'm feelin' pretty good, actually. Can't wait to see my chest!

Percocet-fueled thoughts

I had my surgery and everything went well!

I took tons of naps at the hospital (because I had to wait a lot pre-surgery and because I was nauseous post-surgery) and now I am home waiting for my favorite cat to come over and cuddle with me and for my mom to finish some chicken soup for me to eat as I haven’t eaten in a while.

You don’t know how important your core muscles are until they’re all poked around at. I’m sore but it’s more like I did a lot of sit ups than something stabbing or anything. Walking hurts though, but I had to at the hospital and I walked into the house and up the stairs and survived. The surgeon told my parents that it’s a good thing I had the surgery now because my gallbladder was in rough shape and definitely looked sick.

Now for a ton of anesthesia-fueled naps and sleep and more sleep and relaxation.

Det er 16 dage siden, at knæet blev opereret og status lige nu, er at jeg ikke må bøje mit ben!

Jeg havde jo håbet på, at jeg var super duper klar parat til alt muligt efter 2 uger, men ak, sådan skulle det ikke gå. Jeg mente nu ellers at det gik helt fantastisk, havde ingen smerter og cyklede endda til og fra arbejde mandag og tirsdag i den her uge. Onsdag skulle jeg så på hospitalet for at have…
