Inktober 52 - Week 51 - 'Trumpet’
OK…so technically a horn and not a trumpet, but I’m not very musically knowledgeable.
So I have this sort of...memory(?) of these little horns often being in Christmas decor. In researching I think what I remember is an old postal coach horn: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_horn
Googling ‘Christmas postal horn’ brings up a few images and tree decorations that fit with my memory, but there seems to be little else connecting it to Christmas. So I guess it’s just a case of ‘we get a lot of post around Christmas- so it features in our festive symbols’. Here is my attempt at a Christmas creature featuring those same horns. A Yule goat once again with horns that are literal ‘horns’ that sound to announce the good news. A horse may have been more appropriate, but I wanted some silly musical horns. Maybe ait should have been a goofy unicorn. :B
