Travis: The Man Who (180 gram, 20th anniversary edition, Craft Recordings, 2017). 'Cause there is no design for life There is no devil's haircut in your mind There is not a wonderwall' The lyrics (referencing The Manic Street Preachers, Beck & Oasis) to Travis' final track on The Man Who: 'Slide Show', summed up the disaffection with the notion of Cool Britannia that spawned the post-britpop era. Alongside the likes of The Verve & Radiohead, Travis were one of the major bands to emerge and flourish as britpop fizzled out. The Sterephonics: Decade In The Sun (180 gram, double vinyl, gatefold sleeve, Virgin EMI Records, 2018)

Despite owning only two Stereophonics albums (Word Gets Around & Language. Sex. Violence. Other?) I know near enough every song on this best of album. Testament to the commercal reach of the Welsh rockers. Experimental, art rock peppered in gimmicks? No. Straight up classic rock? Yes.

Favourite cut: Traffic. Pure truth.

Having a post-Britpop morning. Not many better ways to start the day. Except perhaps with Coco-pops. I don't actually have Coco-pops I have crumpets every morning because I don't like change.
