Check-In and Posting Information 2026

Hello Glompers!

Check-in time is now upon us! An email will be going out shortly with a link to the check-in form, but until then, consider this a gentle reminder that you have just over THREE (3) WEEKS LEFT before it’s time to turn in your fill(s).

I’m ready to submit my Glompfest gift. How do I go about doing that?

STEP 1:

Post (don't save as a draft!) your completed and beta’d fanwork to our Merthur Glompfest 2026 Collection on AO3 here. Once it has been posted, your fanwork will be visible to us but remain hidden (unrevealed) to others until such time as it is revealed by the mods after April 1.

You are still welcome to make minor edits to your work until it has been officially revealed, but please don’t share it elsewhere until after the posting date.

NB: Don’t forget to add your Glompee’s name in the “Gift this work to” box! If you’re not sure of their AO3 username or can’t find them on the site, feel free to email us so we can sort that out for you.

STEP 2:

Copy and paste the form below into an email and fill out the relevant information. Please use the subject line: [YOUR USERNAME]: Gift for [GLOMPEE NAME].

Send the completed form to us at: [email protected]

Once we have received your details, we will organise a date for your fanwork to be revealed. We will send out the posting schedule prior to April 1.

Help! I’m not ready to post my gift yet. What do I do?

Don’t panic! All we need from you when you check in is confirmation that you’re still participating in the fest and are on track to complete your fill(s) before the deadline. Please make sure you fill out the check-in form before 1 MARCH to let us know how you’re doing with your gift(s)!

After that, you will have until 15 MARCH 2025 to complete your fanwork(s) and submit it to us. If you’re still not finished by that date, you will need to send us a copy of what you have so far and let us know when you expect it to be completed so that we can discuss the possibility of an extension.

We will do our best to be flexible if you need some extra time, but we do ask that you aim to have your work ready to go ASAP, as we can’t accommodate everyone and will be prioritising extensions for pinch-hitters and those dealing with extenuating circumstances. The sooner you get in touch, the easier it will be for us to accommodate you, so don’t leave it to the last minute!

There's no AO3 collection for this event, so everyone can post their finished gifts on their preferred platforms following the instructions below.

How to post your finished gift:

- Posting period: from December 20th to December 24th

- You have to post the 100% completed gift during the posting period.

- The gift must be posted in its entirety during the posting period. Serial posting (posting in chapters across several days) is not allowed.

- The anonymity lasts only until posting, so you can post your fic and art under your own name, and as an Artist you may use your watermark on the art piece.

- The finished gift can be posted on any of your chosen platforms, such as Tumblr, AO3, Dreamwidth, Bluesky, etc.

- There will be a post about every gift on the STSS blog, so if you have Tumblr, please make a gift post that can be reblogged easily. If you don't have Tumblr, please send the posting info to [email protected] and the post will be made for you on the blog.

- Please tag your Tumblr post with “strangerthingssecretsanta2025”, @strangerthingsfests, and @ your giftee if they have a Tumblr.

- Tag your AO3 post with “Stranger Things Secret Santa 2025” and gift them to your giftee if they have an AO3 account.

- Please tag your gift and use warnings accordingly!

Hello! How does posting work? Do all works become available at the same time? Do you reveal a new one each day? Do you let the authors know when their work is revealed?

Apologies we didn't get around to answering this ask yesterday for you! Yes, we reveal the works one by one. Either one or two works per day depending on the length of them. This means there will be a steady stream of new Wireless works to enjoy for the whole month of July... and often into the beginning of August too!

We don't usually let the creator know when their work has been revealed, but if they are following the fest they should see when it posts - also they will no doubt receive a flurry of kudos and/or comments 💞

We can't wait to reveal all the fantastic fics, art and podfics - there's definitely something in there for everyone!

INFO: Posting

Writers, once your story or stories are complete, please post them to the project's AO3 Collection. The deadline is 12 September, 20:00PM UTC. If you can no longer fulfil your assignment, please let your mods know as soon as you can so we can find a new writer for your Pokémon. No extensions will be given as this reduces the time podficcers have to work.

Fanfiction should be 100% complete when posted (aka, not something you will continue to edit or expand after the deadline) as your mods will be downloading a copy of the work and passing it on to a podficcer so they can get to work. If you upload before the deadline, your uploaded story may be sent to a podficcer earlier also, so do make sure it's complete.

Podficcers, once the podficcer creation period begins (no later than 20:00PM UTC on 14 Sep), the mods will share a PDF via email of the stories you are assigned that includes the work's metadata and text. They will also provide the work's URL so you can link your podfic using AO3's "Inspired By" function. All podfics should be posted to the project's AO3 Collection.

After the final deadline, your mods will compile the anthology. This will be posted here on our DW community, on our Tumblr, and linked in the AO3 collection's profile.

just a few important reminders:

posting (and ao3 reveals) begin at 12am greenwich mean time (GMT+00:00) 25th december 2023. if you’re wondering what time that is where you are in the world there’s a handy online clock here.

the official posting period starts tomorrow, but goes through to jan 15 2024. so don’t panic if you don’t see your secret santa gift right away - it’s still coming, we promise! this event is more like a christmas festival, than a christmas day, ya know? settle in with a bevvie and enjoy yourself.

and please, please don’t forget to appropriately tag / cut / apply relevant warnings to your work
