California: I never thought I would call this place home. For the first year and a half of being here, I felt like I lived here, but Chicago was always home. Last time I went to Chicago, I actually felt like it wasn’t home anymore.. not cuz anything changed & I still love my family and friends very much who live there, but I’ve just finally built a life for myself out on the west coast. To anyone who’s thinking of moving to a completely new area where you barely know anyone or no one at all, I say go for it.. it’s tough at first for a while & maybe it doesn’t work out, but at least you tried & hey, sometimes you even end up calling that place home. I love that I’ve expanded my knowledge & learned how to adapt & live somewhere new, I’ve learned how to live a less fast paced life, I’ve created new relationships, I’ve learned to appreciate the time I get with my family who lives so far away. I’ve kept all my old relationships and created so many new ones. I have learned so much more about myself in this journey and I seriously appreciate the opportunity I was given to try somewhere new !
