Letters (part 1)
“Rebellions are built on hope.”
There she is.
In the middle of the room.
At the centre of it all.
She speaks with such persistence, such hope.
She reminds me of you. If you met her, you’d see how similar the two of you are.
Jyn Erso. That’s her name. I can’t even move because every time they say her name i don’t hear Jyn I hear Ezra. That’s you. My beautiful boy. Even if not by blood, you were my son.
Did you know one time Kanan and I were talking and he accidentally called you son? He didn’t correct himself. I didn’t either.
I don’t think the others would get along well with this Jyn girl. She’s fairly stubborn. A bit like Sabine. Those two would argue constantly. Nothing would get done.
Sabine misses you. I had to visit the clan to inform her of what had happened to you and Kanan.
She cried.
It was a bit shocking for the others, I could tell. Her whole clan stood around her as i broke the news. She fell to the floor and started to cry, so i held her as I held you so many times when you cried.
I just wanted to let you know.
I was talking to some of the other generals. A few think i’m being ridiculous. They tell me to move on. This is what happens in the rebellion. People die.
But I cannot move on from you all. You cannot forget family.
I love you Ezra.
xoxo,
Hera.
