Abilene police: Driving with window down leads to marijuana-related arrest
March 19, 2019 “Abilene police said the odor of freshly burning marijuana from a vehicle at a stoplight Monday lead to the passenger's arrest.A police officer was waiting at a stoplight on South Treadaway Boulevard at South 11th Street at about 2:45 p.m. with the passenger window down when a Buick pulled next to the officer. The Buick's driver window also was down, and the officer reported smelling the marijuana. The officer pulled the vehicle over in the 300 block of East South 11th Street, and the male passenger admitted owning the two small bags of marijuana in cigarette packs in the vehicle, police said.The 29-year-old man was arrested for possessing less than 2 ounces of marijuana and taken to Taylor County Jail. He was later released on a $500 bond.The female driver was issued a citation for driving without a license and released, police said.”

On May 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at a location in the 4400 block of West Jefferson Detroit Police Officers executed a search warrant that led to the seizure of over 1000 marijuana plants connected to a major marijuana operation.
Six people were arrested at the scene for their alleged involvement with the operation: Cotea Jones, 53-years-old, Jeanne Walsh, 37-years-old, Curtis Williams, 36-years-old, Travis Davison, 28–years-old, and James Frazier, 32-years-old, all of Detroit.
This case remains under investigation: no further facts will be provided at this time.
Today all of six have been charged with – Controlled Substance – Delivery/Manufacture of 45 Kilograms or More of Marijuana/Synthetic Equivalent ; or 200 or More Plants, a felony with a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
Defendants Jones, Williams, Davison and Frazier have additionally been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substance-Delivery/Manufacture 45 Kilograms or More of Marijuana/Synthetic Equivalent; or 200 or More Plants, a felony with a 15 year maximum penalty.
They were arraigned this morning in 36th District Court. All of the defendants received $15,000 personal bonds, and will have their Probable Cause Conference on June 11, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. and their Preliminary Examination ion June 18, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.
