9/8/25.
While listening to Constant Smiles "Moonflowers", I looked through some of Felte Records catalogue. I didn't have to go far to find pôt-pot, a Irish-Portuguese band (most of the band appear to be Irish, but the album was recorded in Portugal) that made me think of Scotland in the early 1980s. The first few notes of "Sextape" really had me thinking of Boots for Dancing, Fire Engines and Josef K era post-punk. Most of this, though, has a groove that recalls Girls Names.
But really, if you read the Bandcamp page, a lot of the inspiration for "Warsaw 480km" is repetition - whether that be James Brown (according to lead songwriter Mark Waldron-Hyden) or krautrock.
Other musicians on this album are Elaine Malone, (if you like this pôt-pot release, give Elaine Malone's "Pyrrhic" a listen) and Sara Leslie (there are more musicians than just these two). Mikey Young mastered the album. The entire album will release on September 19th.
