By the way... when I was very young (very!.. like 8 years old maybe?) I saw POTO (2004) and obviously fell in love with the aesthetic of the movie and its inner romanticism. And Erik of course. I spent middle school fantasizing about a weird masked man just like the Phantom. But then I read the book, and then I read Susan Kay's book and I've become so obsessed with those portraits of Erik that I can't find myself capable of bearing ALW Phantom anymore. I occasionally listen to the soundtrack (the Music of the Night is still very relevant to me) and the overture is a masterpiece but really... ALW Erik is so cheesy and simple it makes me uncomfortable. I like Lerik infantilism, his unfulfilled sexual fantasies, his mood swings, the way he talks. And Kerik is very dark and complex and fascinating. Those are the only portraits of Erik that I find enjoyable now.

I’m bored so I thought it would be fun if people came into my ask box (anon or not, whatever you feel comfortable with!) and gave me Phantom of the Opera confessions or Susan Kay’s Phantom confessions.  Or just POTO confessions in general from any adaptation! I am just bored and wanna see what people wanna say :p

michael craw and sarah brightman don't sound good. not together. separately? they sound amazing. i love michael crawford's motn so much like it lifts me up.

the only problem is that i feel like they weren't good together. Sarah's voice feels too low, compared to Michael's relatively high voice. for most to all other pairings, the phantom has a deep voice while christine provides a lighter voice. sarah and michael did the exact opposite.

i need to listen to the original soundtrack before i can give my opinion on this but other phans! come forth and give your take on this!

Erik should make an Erik mannequin. Maybe they kiss. Maybe one of them is wearing a clown wig when it happens. It’s good maybe. Maybe Christine watches. Maybe the Christine mannequin is there too. Maybe they are also kissing. Maybe both mannequins should kiss. I would like to see it.
