fluff - pottery painting with megumi
a/n: rare moment that I write about megumi even tho he’s my fav character 🥲 so enjoy!
It’s been three months since you started dating Megumi, and somehow, it still felt like something you were quietly getting used to—in the best way.
To celebrate, he told you he had something planned for your three-month anniversary.
He knows how much you love making art (to be loved is to be seen!) and how creative you are. So he surprises you to a pottery painting studio! When he reveals this idea to you, your eyes couldn’t help but sparkle in enthusiasm, you couldn’t wait!
You wore a jean skirt paired with a white babydoll top with blue flowers and megumi matched wearing a plain baby blue shirt to match the flowers on your top and khakis.
Holding megumis hand, you walk around the studio, checking out the different objects they had, trying to figure out what to choose. After a while, you decide on a bowl and Megumi picks a mug.
You grabbed the materials you guys needed before heading to a table near the window. The sunlight spills across the surface, hitting your skin as you began painting.
You started with choosing a color for the base of your bowl.
“Pink?” he asks, watching as you dip your brush into the paint.
“Obviously,” you say, already smiling.
He hums quietly, adjusting the mug in front of him before starting on his own design.
You lean slightly closer to peek.
“What are you planning to do?”
“Not sure yet,” he replies. “Still thinking.”
You grin. “That’s your answer for everything.”
He glances at you for a second, smiling before returning to his mug. “It works.”
You shake your head, focusing back on your bowl.
There’s a brief pause as you try to think about what you wanted to say next.
“…I’m really happy you brought us here.” you gave a small smile
His cheeks softly turned a pink hue.
“it’s no problem. I’m glad you like it.” Giving a light smile back.
“Hey… there’s an ice cream shop a few blocks from here.”
He looks up: “…Yeah?”
You: “We could go after this.”
You finish the final touches on your bowl, stepping back slightly to look at it. Strawberries decorated the outside, and inside, a small engraved flower sat alongside you and Megumi’s initials.
You glance at Megumi Fushiguro, who’s just finishing up his mug.
“Looks good,” you say softly.
He gives a small nod. “Yours too.”
After glazing your pieces, you both set them aside to be fired and begin cleaning up.
Once everything is done, you leave the studio and step out into the open air.
The walk back is calm.
You and Megumi walk side by side, hands intertwined, his thumb occasionally brushing against yours subtly.
You glance ahead, then back at him.
“Hey… there’s an ice cream shop a few blocks from here.”
He tilts his head slightly, looking at you. “…Yeah?”
You smile, squeezing his hand just a little. “Can we go?”
He squeezes your hand back.
“Yeah I’m down.”
As you walk, you spotted the ice cream shop, stepping inside together.
After a quick look around, you decide on your usual—vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. Megumi chooses mango sticky rice.
You leave the shop , holding your ice creams and head toward Central Park, the soft hum of the city surrounding you as you walk side by side.
You settle onto a nearby bench, sitting close as you eat your ice cream. Every now and then, you lean over to steal a bite from his, earning a quiet glance from him but no complaint.
The moment feels slow in the best way.
Things were still new between you two—your first relationship, still learning what affection meant and how it felt to receive it but over time, being with him made that uncertainty start to fade into something more comfortable.
You rest your head lightly on his shoulder, letting yourself relax into the quiet of the moment.
Megumi does the same, his posture easing as he presses a small kiss to the top of your head.
You close your eyes for a second, just taking it in.
“…Thank you for everything, Gumi. Today was perfect.”
You lift your head slightly to look at him, smiling, before leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.
For a brief moment, Megumi doesn’t move.
Then his hand lifts, his fingers lightly cupping your cheek as he leans in and returns the kiss, soft and steady.
It’s quick, but enough to make the moment feel warmer than before.
When he pulls back, his thumb lingers near your cheek for just a second before lowering his hand again.
“…You’re welcome,” he murmurs quietly.
