#majormae My bacongo contact who helped me everyday in finding #sapeurs for my #bacongoportrait series. He said sapologie was the answer to the fighting and senseless killing in that region because #sapeurs were "too pretty to fight." Most of the sapeurs I photograph got their money from doing odd jobs like cleaning cemeteries or donations they collected from photographers when they wore their designer suits. Most of their clothes were sent to them from relatives abroad.
