Pasta Night @ the Powellinis
(Paying my dog tax up-front, however displeased she looks)
On the first of this month, the day before my parents flew back to the US, we took them for a day out in Marlow. Whilst wandering through all the charity shops in search of potential board game scores (as usual, we found utter shit and nothing we even needed to contemplate over), my mom spotted a pasta maker. She, of course, “had” to get it for me and made me promise that I would - at some point soon - make pasta (with Rik’s complete agreement and approval).
Exactly 2 weeks to the day, and here it is! I made fresh pasta for dinner and it tasted fantastic, if I do say so myself. The only lesson I would take away from this, however, is to get one of those pasta hanger things. I made the mistake of not separating the pasta out well enough so some of it clumped together by the time it was ready to go into the boiling water and was too hard to separate. But, ho-hum. You live and you learn. it was tasty either way.

(Step 1)
(Step 4 - I didn’t take photos of step 2 or 3 which was the formed dough and then the split up dough)
(Step 5 - right before the finished product)
(this is the photo I took for proof to send my mom so that she didn’t think I just pulled the pasta photos from a blog or something)
