Today is the last day of Powerful Babies: Keith Haring’s Impact on Artists Today at Spritmuseum, Stockholm. There are not enough words to express my gratitude for being part of the exhibition. Thank you, Rick Herron, Bill Arning, Mia Sundbreg, Ingrid Leffler, Alida Ivanov, Eva Livigin-Olin and everyone at Spritmuseum!
Yesterday I was in the lobby of the Chelsea Arts Building waiting for the elevator - holding the Powerful Babies catalogue. This lady approached me and asked if I had seen the exhibition. I told her I’m in the exhibition and she said her friend, Lee Quionones, is in the exhibition. We chatted for a bit and then she left to walk her dog.
Later I was walking south on 9th Avenue and I saw this guy who looked familiar. The closer I got I realized it was Scooter LaForge who is also in the exhibition. We hugged and as we were talking I asked him if he allows people to visit his studio. I love his work and have always wanted to learn more about his process. He said he would love for me to visit his studio, so I’m going to send message him and set up a time for a visit.
As I walked away from Scooter, I thought to myself how lucky I am to be where I am in life - doing what I want to do. The Universe is magical right now and I could not be happier!
