Powerful - Y/n Weems x Enid Sinclair
Chapter 7
Rundown: you get jealous about Enid and Wednesday and your mother helps you with asking Enid to be your girlfriend
Warnings: jealousy
What your mother told you about Wednesday, made you feel under your mood for the whole next day. You were going to classes, you were listening and taking notes, even talking to Enid, but after some time she realized that something was happening.
When you had a class with Miss Thornhill, you were sitting next to Enid. And you realized that your mother might be right, because when Wednesday sat next to Enid, you exhaled a little louder than before and clenched your teeth.
Looking at the professor, you couldn’t get out of your mind that you had shapeshifted into her. Why was she calling herself Marilyn Thornhill if her true name was Laurel Gates? What was she hiding from the school, from your mum? You were thinking about what happened at the mansion and when you realized that the professor was watching you for few seconds, you looked away and turned your head to Enid.
“Did I really look like this when… you know.”
“Yes you did. There was nothing different between you two. If you would shapeshift now, no one would be able to tell a difference,” Enid whispered to you and then you just looked in front of yourself, giving some attention to the professor, who was talking about the plants she had prepared for the class.
For the rest of the class you had with Laurel, you couldn’t think about anything else. Why did she change her name? Why did she hide it? There was no other Gates, she could just go with it. What was this woman planning behind your mother’s back she didn’t know about?
You weren’t giving her any attention, you were just drawing into your notes. You didn’t know what was it going to be but when you realized that you had drawn the main gate of the mansion, you flinched.
“What is it?” Enid asked you and leant closer. When she saw what had you drawn, she just slowly took the paper and was watching Laurel. Without her realizing, she took the paper and hid it from her eyes. If she would recognize the main gate, she would know that something is happening and you are in it. And if she would realize that, she could just leave from the school and you would never know what she was or is planning. “Y/n, can I ask you to be a little more careful? You saw that room, it means she is still using it. And that means-"
“I know what it means Enid,” you told her, a little angry because of that you realized Wednesday watching you two. When you saw her, you looked away immediately. You would rather be watching Laurel than a girl who seems to like Enid as much as you did. Realizing how sharp your answer was, you turned to Enid and wanted to apologize to her. But when you did so, she was watching Laurel and she didn't seem like she wanted to talk at that moment.
You closed your eyes and breathed out a little louder than you expected. Hoping in that the class was at the end already, you looked at the clock. It was lunch time. You just had to wait few more minutes and then you were excused. So you decided to sit there, next to Enid and pretend that you were in the class with your body, mind and soul too.
As soon as you left, you didn’t wait for the girls. You aimed it straight into your mother’s office and without knocking on the doors, you entered it. When you saw your mother sitting behind her desk and typing something on the computer, you just quietly closed the doors and sat opposite to her.
“I need help,” you said quietly and your mother looked up at you, folding her hands under her chin, letting you know that she was listening. “But first of all, are you busy?”
“No honey, I am not,” your mother said and you breathed out. Playing with your fingers in your lap, you looked down at them and started quietly.
“You were right,” you said and didn’t look up. Not knowing how to tell her, you were trying to find the right words. “I mean… Marilyn’s class wasn’t really interesting and I started drawing. And I don’t know why, I draw the gate of the Gate’s mansion. And Enid told me to be more careful. And I saw Wednesday watching us and I snapped at her,” you told your mother what happened in the class and when you looked up at her and saw her smiling, you frowned. “What?”
“Darling that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t like you or something. She is also a girl and has the same emotions as you. Or similar. Did you think about that she maybe feels the same as you right now?”
“I just- Wednesday makes me go crazy mom,” you paused to take a breath and then you continued. “It is like- she pretends that she hates Enid, but the way she looks at her, I know that she doesn’t and what if Enid realizes-“
“Honey,” your mother stopped you and you looked her into her eyes realizing that you were crying. When your mother realized that too, she stood up and walked over to you, hugging you in the middle of her office. You hugged her back and cried into her chest while she tried to talk to you. “You saw how Wednesday behaves. And you know what is Enid like. Do you think that it could work between them?”
“Well- it could mom-“
“It couldn’t. If you would be here, you would know that Enid sometimes comes here to talk to me about her roommate. Or before you came here, she did that too. For the first time I moved them in together, both of them came and begged me to placed Wednesday somewhere else.”
“Enemies to lovers,” you noted only and your mother shook her head.
“Honey that is not possible. Enid isn’t interested in Wednesday, believe me.”
“But why?” You asked her back, pulling away.
“Enid will tell you one day herself,” your mother said and you nodded your head, drying your tears with the back of your hand. The high blonde rubbed your cheek and you smiled a little and then you backed away. “Now go to your room honey and be really careful. You know what can happen,” your mother reminded you and you nodded your head, walking to the doors. “And Y/n!”
“Mhm?”
“Don’t hurt your classmate,” your mother said and you exhaled loudly, making your mother believe in that you wanted to do something to her. When you nodded your head and walked out of her office, you just closed your eyes and leant against the wall. Your mother could be right. And you knew that she was right. After all, she was the one who realized that something was happening and you just realized that she was right. You shook your head to put these thoughts in the back of your mind and then you lifted your chin up, walking to your dorm the usual way.
When you arrived to the doors of your room which you were sharing with your classmates, you took a deep breath. Knowing that Enid was sad from that how you snapped at her, you opened the doors and walked inside of the room. What you saw was something what made you stop in shock. It was Enid packing her things.
“Enid?” You asked her quietly and walked closer to her. You felt that only you and her were in the room and Wednesday was somewhere else and what you saw- Enid was packing her things and she wanted to leave for sure.
“Mhm?”
“What is this?” You asked quietly and stepped closer to her. Enid didn’t even look at you and she continued in packing her stuff into the suitcases.
“I am moving out. I am going to share a room with Yoko,” she said only and hearing this made you even more sad than before. “You know, Wednesday said she doesn’t want me in the room anymore.”
“Enid, I am sure we can find some solution-“
“What solution do you want to find? There is no free room in the school where I could go and-“
“Leave it to me Enid,” you said and looked around in the room. “May I go with you?” You asked her with your soul as small as it could be and Enid looked at you. She only blinked few times and you could tell that she was in shock.
“You want to- you want to go with me?”
“Of course. But only if you want to,” you whispered because Enid stopped with everything she was about to do. You saw how a smile made it’s way to her face and when you saw that she was smiling, she opened her arms and ran to you. To hug you.
Enid flew into your arms and you hugged her as strong as she did. You rested your chin on her shoulder and closed your eyes. For the first time in a really long time, you felt happy and wanted. Enid made you feel all of these feelings you were expected to feel when you are in love. Hugging her tight but not too tight, you pulled away from her after a short time you two spent hugging. Your eyes landed in hers. Her beautiful blue eyes made you feel like you were drowning in an ocean. When she smiled, you smiled as well and something made you look onto her lips.
“Y/n may I-“ she asked you shyly, and all you could dowas just nodding your head in agreement. In the following second, you could feel her lips on yours and you finally tasted her lipstick which tasted like honey, again. Your tongues were dancing all over the place you gave them and you felt this ball of warmth build in your stomach. You took her face into your hands. Enid kept kissing you and you were the happiest student of the school. You just kept kissing Enid and imagined that how would it be if you two were sharing one room. If it would be only you and Enid.
When you softly pulled away from Enid, she chuckled and looked you into your eyes. You smiled at her as well and you felt heat arriving to your cheeks and you were sure in that they turned red. Enid softly brushed her finger over your cheek and you just looked down at the floor, just when the doors flew open.
“You are really- oh,” you heard only and you knew that it was your classmate who arrived to the room you were still sharing. You softly pulled away from Enid because of the informations you got and you cleared your throat.
“Yes Wednesday I am leaving. And Y/n is going with me as well. So you have your room all to yourself and you don’t have to pout about that you have to share it with someone. After all, you have wanted this since you arrived, haven’t you?” Enid asked her not even looking at her roommate and classmate in one. You sighed because of what was happening, but you closed your eyes and took Enid’s stuff. “It shouldn’t take long. I take my stuff and then we come back for Y/n’s. By the evening you won’t even know that you had a roommate,” Enid said sharply and you followed her out of the room, because you didn’t want to stay in the same room with the crazy girl.
“Was I too harsh or something?” Enid asked you and you helped her with the stuff she was carrying. You shook your head no and then you just followed Enid to the room she wanted to move in, maybe for the rest of the school year.
“Don’t you think that we should tell mom?”
“Oh yeah, right. But first of all, we need to move and then we will tell her. Deal?”
“Deal,” you nodded your head and then you closed your eyes. All you saw were the suitcases in the room which you just left and you had your stuff in the wardrobe still. “What if we try something?” You asked from Enid what made her look at you and she frowned. “Honestly, I don’t know if it will work, but I can try. Just trust me,” you said when you saw the judgy look Enid gave you and you closed your eyes, trying to concentrate on the previous room.
You held your eyes closed and you imagined your room. Imagining that you were packing your suitcase in your room, you just thought of that everything flew into it and it closed on it’s own. And then you opened the doors and let the suitcase flew out of the room, finding the way straight to you.
“Oh my god- what- how- Y/n-“
“I was just lucky,” you said honestly and you looked down at your suitcase. It seemed to be really full and you just hoped in that you didn’t forget anything.
Enid was still watching you and she seemed shy. When she smiled at you you were sure in your statement. Walking over to the bed which you chose before, you put your suitcase onto it.
Breathing out a little louder, you closed your eyes and tried to process what just happened. You moved out of your room because Enid had a fight with the goth girl. You moved out with her because she was feeling uncomfortable.
Sitting onto the bed you invited Enid to sit down next to you. You kept your mouth shut because you didn’t want to say something wrong or hurt the blonde. But she stared.
“Y/n…. What are we now honestly?” Enid asked you and you looked her into her eyes. How they were shining told you that she was waiting for something you wanted to say but after that question you found yourself out of words. “I just- uhm- sorry-“
“No Enid that’s okay. I- If you want to… I mean-“ you tried to not sound awkward but you couldn’t help it.
“Yeah?”
“Do you- Can you- Could you consider the situation of being my girlfriend?” You asked her, gulping really loudly.
Both of you appeared in silence and you could feel your heart beating it’s way out of your chest. You could also feel it. When the answer didn’t come immediately, you got scared and backed away from Enid for a second. “I am sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you, I just-“
“Yes,” Enid said with her voice high and you looked at her in shock.
“Excuse me?”
“Well you wanted to know if I would like to be your girlfriend. And I said yes,” Enid repeated and all you could do was just blink. You finally asked her. In your new room. When it was only two of you.
And she said yes.
