This is is my current project: an early 2005 PowerMac G5 with dual 2.0 GHz PowerPC processors. It originally shipped with 512 MB of RAM. I’ve upgraded this to 3 GB.  When I got this PowerMac there was a 200 GB hard drive, which I’ve replaced with a 1 TB disk. There is also a 4X dual layer “SuperDrive” (CD-R/DVD-R combo). The video card is a Radeon 9600 with 128 MB of VRAM connected to an 8X AGP slot. This card has two DVI ports. For expansion, there are 3 available PCI slots. Blutooth and Wi-Fi were optional. This machine didn’t have these installed when I got it, but I’ve since added them.

 The installed operating system is Mac OS X 10.4.11 “Tiger.”  It’ll support up to 10.5 “Leopard”, but I’ll think I’ll leave that alone, since Tiger was the last version of the OS to support “Classic Mode”, which lets me run some pre OS X software.

For productivity, this computer has Adobe Creative Suite 2, iWork 06 (since upgraded to iWork 09), and Microsoft Office 2004 installed.
