I don't actually know how power saves or action replay work. If it's not a bother could you explain?
Sure! So Powersaves is a USB device that plugs straight into your computer. It comes with a slot on the other end of the USB that fits any 3DS cartridge game (so if you have downloads, then I’m sorry it won’t work).
Where to buy it is said here.
When you buy the device it will come with a licence key, which you will use to create an account. You can download the software from their site. Once it’s set up, which is really quick and easy, you just open the software, plug in the device, plug in your cartridge, and then you are free to do what you please!
You can make a save, which backs up your entire game and what’s on it. You can also load previous saves back on, and this can be done seemlessly with ACNL! I have a guide here on how to use powersaves to keep multiple towns on the same cartridge. Powersaves also has codes which are listed on their site (link at the end). These are codes that vary from inputing items into your town or character slots, maxing your money. And there are lots of codes for other games too! The only known game-breaking problems with Power Saves have been with the pokemon games. But I haven’t had any issues with using PS for ACNL!
Also note that it only works with games that store their save information on the cartridge itself. So for games such as Fantasy Life, it is not supported since the save data is on the SD Card/system. A list of all the games supported and their codes can be found here.
TL/DR; Powersaves is good for cartridge-only games, where you can basically input cheat codes and keep backups of your games on your computer.
If you have other questions feel free to ask!!
Quick survey:
I'm planning future giveaways and am wondering how many people don't hack/use powersaves vs how many folks DO - and your preferences. Even though I have access to a powersave device, I'm only using it for backups these days. All my giveaway items are ones I've bought in-game. I would like those to go to people who can't get them as easily, so knowing a rough percentage of my followers who don't "cheat"* would be nice. However, I also want to cater to folks who DO have powersaves or hacks. What sort of giveaways would you enjoy if you already have access to everything those methods could get you? RV visits? Physical items such as amiibo figures/packs? I would offer drawings but it's not the art form I'm skilled in. Input is appreciated! * the word "cheat" has a negative connotation and I don't want anyone to think I condemn using powersaves or hacks. It's your game! It was just an easy word to use
hey codejunkies can you make a hack device for nintendo switch cartridges?
its the only way i can actually enjoy ssbu, that shitty game where i cant get any characters in a convenient way
Powersaves question for ACNL
Is it possible to edit player character names/birthdays? Like if I wanted to change my mayor's or another human villager's name or birthday.
oh hey I made this lil thing bc i started using powersaves again
i’m losing my fucking mind because i want to use my powersaves but the codes don’t become free for like 50 days because i don’t have powersaves prime and i’m dying
i need specific pokemon
Can I use any kind of powersaves to install oot3dhax?
Maybe someone will read this and can help me...
