Where would you prefer to live, the city or the country? Why? I've always said I would enjoy living in the country. The more I live in the city, the more I think a break would be nice. I don't think I could settle for one or the other, though...each has its own charm.
How did you meet one of your close friends? A really good friend of mine once moved all the way from Virginia to Kentucky for some reason in the 5th grade. I met him in my homeroom and ever since we've been pretty rad buds.
What are your “must haves" for a significant other? Why? A sense of humor is always necessary. A sense of independence is really important to me now as well. Someone who can talk, but also someone who can listen. Sharing interests helps. Musically/artistically inclined also helps. The more I put down "must haves," the more I find that it's not really a well defined factor, nor has it really ever been...
What is a quality that you wish you had and why? I wish I knew what to say to start a conversation! I'm helpless in the water whenever there's a silence. I wish I could just say whatever and start talking to someone.
Who do you most admire and why do you admire them? I know it's a cliche answer, but I really do admire my father. He's probably the most generous person I know, selfless to a fault. He's understanding, I almost never see him mad...the work he does for other people without anyone asking or reciprocating is mind-blowing to me.
If you could have any animal for a pet, what would it be and why? FERRET. SO WIGGLY.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Take me to Spain, stick me in a city, and call me happy. I'd really prefer to just see the world, and not stick around in one place, though.
What would be your dream job and why? My dream job is the one I'm after, and that's performing in opera internationally. There's just some draw to it I can't even describe. I want to sing for people around the world, I want them to know how much I appreciate their music, their languages, their everything.
Are you and introvert, extrovert, or combination of the two? Usually I say introvert, but I'm slowly working out of it. I have a couple extroverted qualities, but mostly I'm introverted.
Any celebrity crushes? My love for Ellen Page is boundless. Fun story: yesterday a friend was showing me a YouTube video and Ellen Page was in it. We were having a conversation, and when she popped up on the screen I literally just said "Ellen Page!" and completely lost track of the conversation. I have a problem, and that's okay.
If there was a mysterious food in front of you and you had no idea what it was, would you eat it? Uh...no.
Cats or Dogs? Why? I am a cat person. I like cats. I have always liked cats. Dogs are cute too. I like cats better.
Favorite childhood movie? Treasure Planet without a doubt. What an incredible movie.
Do you have a “favorite” family member? Tell us about them. Not really. My immediate family is just my mom and dad, and my extended family goes on for ages. I like most of them, if not all of them. My family is pretty solid.
If you had the chance to re-live your high school years, would you? Why or why not? Hahahaha dear lord, no. Those years were awful enough as they were...I would not want to go through them again. High school was rough.
Favorite book, poem, or short story? The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak holds a place as my favorite book, closely followed by A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'engle.
How open are you on the subject of sex? I'll talk about it, I'll do it, whatever. Party time. Let's do it.
What inspired you to do what you do? (What you study, your career, etc.) I'm not really sure. One day I was singing and I just knew that was what I wanted to follow. Something clicked in my head and I was off.
What is a food that you absolutely refuse to eat? Why? Raw tomatoes, separately or even on stuff (burgers, salad, etc.). I just hate them. I don't know.
Describe your perfect date. Casual dinner, a walk through the park, some sort of show (opera, musical, concert, whatever works). Back to my place, or her place, and we'll see what happens from there. A laidback affair. Nothing too high-strung or nothing with much pressure.
Do you consider yourself a hopeless romantic? Or are you more of an independent type? Hopeless romantic. I'm fine on my own, I can survive by myself, but I'm one of those people who just craves love. I'm getting better!
If you had to associate yourself with one of the four elements (fire, earth, air, and water), which one would you choose and why? Air, because I breathe a lot and I have friends that require safe passage in the air often. Also I am light and airy like a beautiful fairy.
