LIGHTS interview with Mindyourmind.ca (01/25/11)
[x]
Interviewer: What gives you hope?
Lights: Uhm... Oh alot of things... Knowing that there are- I think there are bigger things in this world that keep you going and give you the inspiration that you need. And your family; my family is so good. One of the biggest things that gives me hope is actually, drawing yourself out of the picture, and looking at the world like it's this big. And seeing how very trivial your problems really are. Like, I went back to the Philippines in August actually, with World Vision. We were working in alot of the poor areas, and uhm... Seeing that there's you know like, amazing people, like so deserving of prosperity, that don't have it, and they're still so generous and happy. You know, seeing that kind of thing makes me less afraid that I'm gonna fail. Like if I- if you fail... That's not the end of the world! Pick it up again, do it again, you know? And like, that's inspiring to me. It makes me... It makes me feel O.K. As long as you can find something that's greater than you, then you'll never be afraid to... to wipe out, because everyone does.
This is the reason why Lights is my hero. Like, 90% of why she is, was this small section of this interview. I swear to god, after I watched this, my problems just started to seem so small, and it was a lot easier to get through the day without making bad decisions and have panic and anxiety attacks. So this video means alot to me... Alot. I thought it just deserved a little recognition. Thanks, Lights.
