‘Was it something I said?’ Sid wasn’t quite sure if he had said something to offend Agent Percival, but despite their advances in the recruitment testing to replace the late James Spencer as Agent Lancelot for the Kingsman, after the first test and advancement Sid made with mentor Percival, Percival appeared in the slightest, saddest way, the opposite of pleased with their progress.
Day one in the candidate barracks and the room filled with water. It was funny, as a child, Sid had anticipated having to deal with the perils of quicksand when he got older --and explored the world; found his place in it, like he promised himself, but, trapped in a room filled to the ceiling with water? If Sid hadn’t been such a chameleon, and flinch-responding to what the other candidates had done to survive the filling threat—he’d have drowned.
Sid had passed the written exam, and the test involving arms usage. The pack was getting thinner, they were all the more closer to replacing James Spencer as the new Agent Lancelot; and yet Sid's mentor, Percival, couldn't have looked sadder. Not made of stone, it was hard for Sid to focus entirely on prep for the next recruitment test, and so he spots an opportunity to make his mentor laugh.
Merlin left his mic in the observation room outside of the candidate barracks to have another stern one-on-one with candidate Eggsy Unwin. Approaching Merlin's spot at the desk and leaning into the tech wizard's space, he reaches in front of him to hold his hand hovering around the mic and after a few test one-twos, one-twos, he announces to the Kingsman headquarters, "Would the owner of the little brown car parked out front please move it. ------- You ain't parked illegally or anything. It just makes the place look.. really, shitty."
