Hey just wondering how the rest of the players at your table have reacted to you playing a mute character? I was literally just thinking about playing a mute sphinx tabaxi and saw your post lol
Pretty swell! Sometimes they have trouble understanding the signs and might interpret bit wrong, but it’s been nothing too troublesome so far. Also since it’s written form game it helps a lot, and sometimes i discuss stuff oocfor example we just found a abandoned ship, so i write in character “Whisper stays away from the ship” and ooc tell them that he just hates ships. They are good players so they know to make not of what their characters know, and what they as players know. In worst cases of not having a clue what he’s trying to say, our warlock tends to hand him pen and parchment that he carriers and Whisper will just write down what he wants to say.Tho I feel like some form of meta is necessary if you play a mute character, or at least it helps out a lot.Overall I’d say it all depends on how prepared the players are to deal with the possible communication barrier, but most importantly if the GM is ok with it then others just have to learn to live with it. So if you can discuss it with the GM and find agreement then it should be fine i dare bet
