I'll post the masterpost at the end, and the story is still ongoing so I will be adding more (eventually)

When they get married, Jiang Cheng gives a really decent amount of gifts as he's supposed to, so that helps the Sect a little, but not heaps since you probably shouldn't sell off marriage gifts.

I imagine the Jiang Sect to be quite wealthy. It's no Jin Sect, obviously, but purple is not a cheap colour and Jiang Cheng has several outfits of solid purple so I think the Jiang Sect has some cash flow.

He wants to help do up the Huang Sect but Huang JinJing will absolutely not have it. She wants to be independent. Once they fall in love and everything is settled, she loosens up a little.

Jiang Cheng loves the baby (and the other four). Both he and Huang JinJing secretly think they are the most experienced with babies, but to be honest, it's a whole other ball park when it's completely your own baby and you don't have a horde of nannies paid for by the Chief Cultivator. They are not perfect parents, but Wangxian uncles come and help a lot (despite both have Zero experience with actually baby babies) and Lan Sizhui basically lives at Lotus Pier for two years. The rest of the Junior Quartet turn up as cool uncles but they are next to useless. Still, the children are raised with a lot of love so it's all good

So PPP takes place predominantly in the cql verse but has some elements from the book I like. (for example, LWJ is not chief cultivator and, in fact, no one is, because I think that's dumb and it's my story)

So HJJ knew JC, a bit, when they were teenagers, and she already disliked his grump and arrogance.

Then after Everything Went Down and settled down, he's known for being really abrasive and aggressive. In the book, he captures and tortures suspected demonic cultivators and she finds this abhorrent. Maybe it's just a rumour, I haven't decided how much I wanna deal with that yet. But she basically think he enjoys violence and is a big Jerk, at least.

Also, in the book, Wei Wuxian has a conversation with some common people who say they avoid going to Lotus Pier for help with ghosts because he's that unpleasant and scary for people to deal with.

So she's not the only who just doesn't like him haha he has a bad reputation.

But yeah, that's why she doesn't like him before getting to know him

Then his winning personality really cements her prejudice

She's almost coming round to him but then the Engagement Event ™ happens and he ruins any good cred he'd built up
