3. Top 3 least favorite characters? I like most of the characters so this is a bit difficult.

1) If we’re including non crewmates, Dukat, for obvious reasons if you watch DS9. He’s quite an interesting character sure but terrible as a person, and he definitely deserved his fate at the end of DS9.

2) Only in the later seasons of Voyager, but the Doctor. I really didn’t like his relationship with Seven and I found it far too creepy, that and that one episode where he was in Seven’s body and didn’t listen to her restrictions/what she’d allow made me really dislike him.

3) This one is really a character I don’t hate and it’s more I just kinda find most of his episodes annoying and he’s my least favourite out of the main DS9 crew, Quark. I more so just find him annoying and his episodes with his mother really didn’t sit well with me.

17. What role would you have aboard a starship?

Well I have a huge interest in science and especially biology so I’d really think a science officer, if possible a xenobiologist. I just find the idea of studying and researching new animals and living beings really fascinating and exciting. And I also don’t think I’d be good at anything else honestly.

45. Which alien culture would you most want to live in/would feel most comfortable?

Hmm. Perhaps not my favourite aliens, that’d be Vulcan’s and Bajoran’s, I feel like Betazed and Betazoid culture would be where I feel most comfortable. I’m an emotional person so out of every culture, Betazoids just would fit that aspect the best.

can i ask which apps do you use? (I’m fairly sure you already talked about it but I can’t seem to find a smilar discussion on your blog)

@praticamente-innocua The ones I rely on most are BeFocused and-or 30/30 (both do basically the same thing--let you make a list of things to do and then you set a timer to work on it intervals--but 30/30 is better for my more hype days when I want to bounce around between several tasks whereas BeFocused is better for when I’m hyperfocusing on one thing and don’t want to get overly fried because of it), Alarmy, Morning Routine, and ToDoist!

Breakdown of my daily app routine and what everything does:

Alarmy: you set alarms and then set a task to turn the alarm off. You can solve a puzzle or math problem, take a photo or shake your phone. I always use the photo task because it ensures that I move and physically start whatever I need to be doing at that time. Using it in combination with Morning Routine has been the only thing that’s made me able to reliably get up on time. I also use it to make sure I get out the door on time for important appointments by setting a task to take a picture of the door of my building. It really makes executive dysfunction a lot less miserable.

Morning Routine: make a list of activities you want to do in a routine, set what time you want to do them and set timers for how long you want to spend on each one. It sends a notification when it’s time to start the routine and keeps a record of how many days in a row you’ve done it. I use it to, similarly, get ready on time in the morning, and also to create “30 day challenges” to make new habits. I think this one may only be on iOS but I remember seeing an android equivalent when I was first looking into it.

ToDoist: basically a way to organize and schedule tasks you need to do with a really easy-to-understand tag system that makes it super fast. it lets you set goals of how much you want to get done each day and you earn points when you meet them. generally remembers everything for you and makes sure things don’t get lost in the shuffle, rewards you (arbitrarily, but still) for putting in your end of the effort. ngl, causes half as much stress as it relieves because i HATE seeing tasks go overdue and I always try to do too much, but that has more to do with my personality than the app, lol

30/30: this one is iOS only, there’s an obscure android imitator but it doesn’t really work. that said, it is good enough that it’s the reason i caved and got an iphone again. you make a list of tasks, a timer gives you a set interval to do each one and rings an alarm when time is up, then starts a timer for the next task on the list. If you didn’t check off the original task, it shunts it to the bottom of the list to come back to. I usually make a list that alternates fun/easy and difficult tasks and circle in on completion of all my priorities all day long.

BeFocused: straightforward “pomodoro technique” timer where you can create a task list and then set work and break intervals. Differs from 30/30 in that 1. you have to have unlabelled “breaks” instead of just switching tasks, and 2. it won’t move you on to the next task until you’re done. I think I actually get more done using it than 30/30, but it can just feel like such a grind sometimes that I like having both options. sort of like how in exercise/sports you’re supposed to “listen to your body” to avoid injury, I listen to my brain to avoid burnout. Some days are non-stop doing days, some days I need breaks that are total mental rest.

I also set lots of timers anytime I need to do something every day (like, for example, going to bed on time, and following from that, finishing work, making tomorrow’s list and doing the dishes early enough to make sure I go to bed on time) and usually use meditation apps on my “total breaks” or whenever I really feel the ol’ comorbid anxiety/rejection sensitivity symptoms kicking up. Organization is nothing without sleep and emotional stability--both of which are easier talked about than accomplished of course, but the good news is trying hard seems to be enough to make a difference.

17. What role would you have aboard a starship?

As I am right now, probably a counselor since I’m studying psychology but if I could start all over, I think it would be cool to be an exobiologist with a focus on microbiology.

23.  Favorite tropes?

I don’t know if this is a trope but I like when aliens/humans either do or don’t understand quotes or references to literature or they discuss literature, like Julian and Garak’s discussions about Cardassian literature. I’m still curious about whether Quark actually reads hewmon literature or he just overhears hewmons quoting books, likes the quote, and steals it for his own use without having any idea where it’s from.

41. Which episode(s) creeped out/scared you the most?

Honestly, Discovery’s Despite Yourself disturbed me so much that I stopped watching Season 1. There was an ep of TNG with those creepy little creatures in the Starfleet admirals. DS9’s Distant Voices scared me but I love it. City on the Edge of Forever scared me because I have a phobia of overdoses and Bones is my favorite character so I didn’t like that part of it at all.

4. Favorite alien species?

Hands down the Trill! I love the spots (and the worms) and the whole concept of joining is really fascinating. I don’t quite like how the government restricted joining on the show, and I wish we had seen more of Trill culture, but they gave us Jadzia and Ezri and Lenara so yay! (Can we pretend that the TNG Trills don’t exist)

39. You have to relocate to a planet other than Earth, which do you choose?

Hmm I suppose living on the planet Voyager visited in ‘Thirty Days’ would be interesting. I love blue and water, so I would enjoy spending hours staring out of the window! And with all that water I suppose the weather would be nice and cool too, a nice change from where I live :D

If my username didn’t give it away, it’s very obvious what are my favourite series and who are my favourite characters lol ;) I also write in the past tense a lot but recently I have been experimenting with writing in the present tense, which turned out to be interesting. Apart from that I’m surprised that only one fic starts with dialogue! Maybe I did start other chapters with dialogue...

praticamente-innocua:   aw that seems awful. honestly with bioware games i prefer to get spoiled a bit and look at the wikis in advance so i don't have to replay the missions too many times. especially when it comes to romances and important decision i know that making a mistake would just make me ragequit...

Honestly, I had been reading a lot of wiki and totally misunderstood the lock in point. Also? That thing in the mission one person’s description of events being “unpleasantness” is fucking traumatizing to someone else. I was not prepared. Some didn’t mention the content of said mission either. I get why reading spoilers would be good. I know shit is going to get nasty in games like this but like... I dunno. You don’t even know you’re attached to the main character that much until they’re put in danger you can’t control the outcome of. Or that you care about a particular race of aliens until they’re just laying around on the floor... I wouldn’t have lived through watching 9 seasons of grey’s anatomy if I wasn't ready for all the character death by reading wiki.  I also can’t see myself finishing Peebee’s loyalty missions if I’ve locked myself out of that romance. It’s so much work...  like “we better be getting space married after all this nonsense“ Not all games let you cheat code your way out of your own bs mistakes anymore. I’ll just make myself bulletproof to do this one job.No? cooolcooolcoool.  Excuse me while I rage quit myself into the Atlantic ocean. I’ve never understood the stress that leads to rage quit until now.
