whispers a thread/drabble where future lucy and future natsu are battling the dragons and lucy watching natsu die and everyone else b YE

She was on her own… this world that she had grown to love and cherish, has crumbled underneath her with no escape. The savior was no more. Hope was vanquished as one bye one, comrades fell to ashes or crumbled underneath pillars.

Blood, oh god… there was so much that now all she sees is crimson.

They were so strong… as she disappeared through the scarlet colored flames. Him, flying to rescue someone, to only be crushed by a claw cloaked in scales. Also the brave one and the imaginative one, who never left his side as he tried to protect her, only ending in their own doom with a blast from a dragon’s breath.

Tears fell as the thoughts came. They were dragons slayers all of them were… even with the help of the other, they were defeated by the power that was suppose to save them. She was the youngest but didn’t fall first. No. She was the fourth…

"Oh god."

He said to be strong to not give up but how could she? Seeing all her comrades, her true family disappearing from her eyes as if just a speck of dust you brush off your shoulder. She begged and pleaded for him to stop that the hope they so much desired was gone the moment everyone was beginning to weaken. There was just too many.

Too many…

But he continued with all the built up power he tried to unleash. She wanted to help. But there was nothing she could do. Falling to her knees hiding teary eyes with a worn hand. 

"I’m sorry… my… I can’t summon."

A hard crash next to her and smoke rising with pink tresses damp with sweat, stuck to his forehead as he got to his feet. “There is no need.” Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. How did he do it? How did he still have the fire in his eyes? That hope that Lucy lost still radiated inside of him. Hand a flame, “I will be enough.” 

Rushing out of the rubble, charging a dragon that was inches from ripping them both apart. Tears that could blind a person, ran down dirt ridden face for the last person alive fighting for something that cannot be won.

It came around again and there was no time for her to escape. Something crashed into her making her back scrap against the already broken ground. Wincing as she looked up to see that he once again saved her. Giving her his famous grin, rolling off to defeat the stubborn dragon. Her eyes filled as he ran away for who knows how many times.

“…please…” She croaked out, wanting it to end. This nightmare.

But the nightmare was soon over as the light that should wake you, shone brightly. Taking away sight, knocking the girl back into a fallen building. Returning her to that very darkness that she tried to escape.

It was strange… what woke the young mage. The sounds of screaming were not it but crumbling towers and fire cracking in the night. Pushing from the ground with the only thing that actually could grip with to see something not to far off. Parts of it blew in the wind but vision extremely weak from the head injury. It could hardly be made out. Until something all too familiar was spotted.

Stomach churned at the sight. Bile was forming in a clenched throat. But the once dried tears came out like no tomorrow. Pink. That is what it was. Slowly rising to stand… it seemed as if forever until she reached the destination that held no happy ending.

Pushing away the bangs caked with blood, to see dull eyes staring in the opposite direction. The fire was gone… burnt out to only leave blackened coal in its wake. Unnatural sobs and choking of incoherent words. Falling back as she brought this hand, that was tainted with his blood to a mess of hair. Rocking back and forth trying to understand the situation.

There was no denying it. She was alone… no one survived. He—

Lip quivering trying to hold it in but it was useless, only screams were heard as the delicate throat went raw. “I can’t do this!” How could this key wielder continue to live like this… truly all alone? Rushing from the ground back towards him quickly moving his bangs and attempted to close the fireless eyes. But they wouldn’t close. “Shit.” Trying once again to only fail. A few more times and the lids just kept reopening, showing that hallow expression. She heard once before that when they first pass it takes hours before you can shut their eyes. Tears rolled down, splashing against his face. 

One even connected to his eye… almost looking as if he was crying himself. “…oh…” Trying to control the sobbing which lead to hyperventilation. Bringing the limp body close to an aching chest, burying her head in his famous salmon locks. “I’m so sorry…. we are suppose to— we…”

He was so cold now, that fire was really gone. It was painful… to hold him up. Gripping harder to his vest as she buried her head harder in his neck. Not wanting to let go of the last person that truly was alive right before her eyes. He was being ripped from her and this single arm of hers could not hold him any longer. “I… I can’t—” Slowly as finger by finger, lost its hold on the torn fabric. Slipping back to the ground painted with his blood.

All she could do was allow the unwanted liquid fall from her eyes. She couldn’t at least hold him. Not being able to look at him but to only see the world around her, continue to fall as realization sunk in that there was honestly nothing left for her but this fiery coated world.

Everything seemed to be back to a good start. Minerva had returned back to sabertooth safely, Erza was happy for that. She laid in bed thinking of all the countless times she had fought with the woman. That time that she had stabbed Kagura.. 

                           ’ Erza is the winner but the points are mine.’ 

                                               Those were her words..

                       but, the most recent fight..she seemed to have changed.. 

                                             ’ My fist is crying as it hits you! ‘ 

                                          She seems to be.. misunderstood but, how could she forgive someone so easily for all she has done? 

                                                  ' I want you to kill me.'  

The Titania’s thoughts were soon interrupted by none other than Minerva. Brown optics expanded while seeing the other enter her room. What was she doing here? 

                                                           ”Minerva.” 

The vermilion knight called. "What are you doing here?"  She didn’t really know what to say her how to react. She knew that she wasn’t here to fight so, perhaps she was here to apologize? She was and she was..crying? Despite what the woman had done in her past; it didn’t bother the Titania as much as it used to.

She stood up quickly; making complete eye contact with the woman. "If you’re here to apologize— It’s alright Minerva." A sigh escaped the vermilion nights lips after the woman said nothing. 

"It wouldn’t be right of me to judge you for your past actions. What you did was wrong but, you can start making up for them in the future. There is no need to be sad now..you’re back with Sabertooth and you should be happy about that.” 

                        ’ I’m sure there are people waiting for you to come home. ‘

                     She spoke calmly but sternly enough to get her point across. She didn’t want to come off mean.

                          “Smile and push on to a brighter day, Minerva.”
