Quick reminder

If you don’t know what you’re supposed to do, don’t chastise yourself for your lack of knowledge, but pray for guidance. Psalms 48:14 says “For this is God, Our God forever and ever; He will be our guide Even to death.”

Why do people think they make a better decision than God when He literally knows the future?

Most people find it easy to sit in the passenger seat of a car and let someone else drive them to their destination. Unfortunately it’s not that easy to sit in the passenger seat of our lives and let God drive us to our destination.

When we find ourselves in a situation where a decision needs to be made, our instinct isn’t to pray about it, but to make a decision. We trust our own discernment and that’s the worst thing someone can do.

Proverbs 14:12 says “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” Even paths that seem good and safe have too many unpredictable variables. That dream company you got to work on might file for bankruptcy in a couple of years. The boyfriend you really like might be a pathological liar.

We can’t think and even less predict every possible scenery, but God literally knows everything and is willing to guide us through a safe path. Psalms 23:1-2 says “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.” God can be your shepherd. He is THE good shepherd (John 10:11-16). But we need to be sheep not goats (Matthew 25:31-46).

All I’m saying kind of reminded me of Mother Gothel from Tangled singing “Mother knows best”. But unlike Mother Gothel, God:

Really knows best, since He’s all knowing;

It’s really the father of those who accept Him (John 1:12-13);

Has our best interest at heart (Jeremiah 29:11).

God showed Himself to be trustworthy, but He gave us the power to decide if we want to trust Him or not.
