he had gotten word about vampires being held captive, experimented on. augustines ? that’s what he’s heard they’re called. stefan’s murderous days were long gone but anyone who hurt his species ? he would break his golden rule for that, besides he didn’t need to rip their heads off or drain them from their blood to kill them. not only did these people have vampires, they had his brother. sure, they weren’t on the best terms but that didn’t matter now. he couldn’t let them torture him any longer. hell, who knows how long he’d been there in the first place ? one way or another he would get damon out of there & he didn’t care if he ended up locked in a cell instead. eventually, stefan makes it to the building, or what seems to be left. orange and yellow flames lighting up in green hues, the heat already making him sweat. the building in front of him on fire, ready to turn into nothing but dust & ashes on the floor. without hesitation, the younger brother uses his inhumane speed to zoom into the building, not caring if he burns with it. he looks everywhere he can, not spotting his brother. until --- he sees a cage and someone with similar raven hair inside of it. rushing over to it, he’s quick to realize it’s not his brother. yet, it doesn’t stop him from reaching for the metal bars, a loud groan slipping from pink lips when he’s burned. god damn. vervain. hands go back onto the bars, winces coming from him as the vervain stings him & the smoke from the fire is becoming harder for him to breathe. “ finally ! ” he groans out when the bars eventually pull open enough for the other vampire to get out safely. immediately, stefan pulls the other vampire out of the cage and vamp speeds them out of the burning building.
