A trope I think should be explored more in stobotnik fanfics is Agent Stone having to use his lip reading skills

I have read exactly one fanfic with this premise (Stone temporarily lost his hearing), and it was literally one of the best stobonik works I've ever read

Robotnik has Hanahaki disease, he coughs up lavender and he is very much not happy about it. It is later discovered that Stone’s favorite flower is lavender.

Ivo had been coughing up little flower petals for weeks, at first it had been just an annoyance, but now it was really starting to get on his nerves. Looking down into the fist full of petals he found himself confused, why is he coughing up petals, why did they have to be the most disgusting flowers in the world, they smelt like a spiritual guru’s asshole, and tasted even worse. How people found them calming was beyond himself.

After a little research Ivo realized this deadly disease is something called Hanahaki disease, an infection of unrequited love where spores take over the lungs and bloom flowers.

Unrequited love? Ivo had no such thing! He’d never loved anyone, and he would never give anyone his time like that, they didn’t deserve it. No. This had to be a mistake, however he couldn’t stop himself from watching his sweet agent care for him and clean the blood from his lips.

I like to imagine that lower G.U.N agents etc., whenever they needed to ask the doctor a question or needed him in any way that was not directly tied to a current project, they tried to bribe stone in asking these questions because the doctor might actually listen to stone before insulting him
