Verily, the creation of each of you is brought together in his mother's womb for 40 days in the form of a seed. Then he becomes a clot of blood for the same amount of time, then a morsel of flesh for the same amount of time. Then an angel is sent to him and commanded with four things: (1) to record his sustenance, (2) his lifespan, (3) his actions, and (4) whether he will be miserable or happy.
