Summary: Two haunted homes and three promises made to protect A-Yuan from the ghosts and monsters that want to harm him. Kay's comments: Filed under Stories that will make you cry in public and absolutely loved this one. Just a short little slice of life of A-Yuan and the two homes he had with his two fathers, who keep away the ghosts. So sweet and so ouch. Excerpt: A-Yuan slowly relaxed but he still didn’t sleep. Wei Wuxian stroked his back and pressed a kiss to his forehead. “No ghost or monster will ever hurt you as long as I’m around. I will always keep you safe.” “You promise?” A-Yuan asked, his voice so soft and scared that Wei Wuxian almost wanted to go to the Cloud Recesses for punishment. “I promise.” This time when he started humming the mysterious song, A-Yuan relaxed fully and fell asleep in his arms. Tears pricked at the corners of Wei Wuxian’s eyes and he blinked them away before they could fall. He had broken many important promises in his life, but he would rather die than break this one. “I’ll keep you safe no matter what.” Soon, the song and the baby in his arms were enough to soothe Wei Wuxian into a dreamless slumber and he slept peacefully for once.
