Post-it Brother-in-law Bonding!
Everyone talks about how embarrassing the wangxian confession was in the Guanyin temple, but I would argue that Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen's messy, public divorce should be competing for the title of "most awkward for hapless bystanders."
Because sure, Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian were being shamelessly cuddly, but Jin Guangyao—the man who was revealing his supervillain masterplot bit by bit throughout this altercation—spent a portion of that time on his knees in front of Lan Xichen with a tearful, "it's not true baby let me explain," routine—during which you can physically see Lan Xichen yo-yo in real-time between fully buying into jiggy's excuses, then snapping himself out of it with a colorful spectrum of emotions that are definitely in contrast with the Lan family precepts.
What's worse, not only are Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen essentially two of the biggest celebrities of the cultivation world, but most of the cultivators present actively work for Jin Guangyao. That is their boss ugly crying on the floor trying not to fumble the man they are actively holding as their prisoner.
wangxian's PDA crimes pale in comparison to whatever the fuck xiyao was putting them through.

Jiang Cheng: The reason l have always felt so outcast from the other sect leaders is because apparently they are all in polyamorous relationship
and I didn't fucking know.
Uncle-nephew time 🥺✨
Twin jades and their impeccable taste in men
Thinking once again of how the only things lan xichen can say about his mother is that she was extremely gentle and never complained about being imprisoned and how what teeny tiny secondhand scraps we get of who she was before paint the picture of someone who is headstrong, freespirited, and has a clear capacity for violence and there is straight up nothing left of that woman in her children's view of her. What lxc describes is like. sidebraid anime mom levels of sandpapered no-personality-except-kind depersonalization. Neither of the twin jades knew their mom, not just because they only got to see her once a month but because even during those rare meetings they didn't get to know her even a little bit. And how the fuck could they? Being honest about your emotional state in that situation to your fucking six and nine year old children is fundamentally kind of unethical and if she'd done it the lan would almost certainly have banned her from seeing them at all so she was never anything but "generic nice mom" to them. There was literally no room for actual honest bonding and connection. It's like they never met their mom at all.
The wider cultivation world's POV on Wangxian is incredibly funny cause on one hand you've got Jin Guangyao treating it like it's his comfort trashy soap opera, while Lan Xichen is well aware what's going on from day one and goes through the full parabolic arc from "oh he has a little crush that's cute" to "he's mourning him like a grieving widow maybe I should hide all the branding irons". The juniors take one look at the whole situation and go "huh I don't know why Lan Wangji is sleeping with this crazy guy we found in a ditch but whatever makes him happy man 👍" Jin Ling finds his uncles so aggressively endearing he is forced to speedrun Unlearning Homophobia and ends up giving Wei Wuxian a shovel talk that starts and ends with "be faithful to him or istg I will kill you with my own two hands." (he is thirteen)
And then there's Jiang Chang. Not only was he blissfully unaware that Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan could even hold a civil conversation with each other, he also somehow went through Wei Wuxian's entire first life thinking that his brother was straight.
