reminiscing hajin } haneul + dasom (pre-chapter 2)
It's been exactly 7 months since Hajin left the world. It was a tragic day when Kim Haneul's younger brother was killed in a horrible hit and run accident. She could never forget the sight of her beloved sibling being run over and before she could fully endulge in the event, the car simply went away. It was so close to Christmas too. They were out buying gifts for the family, Hajin wanted to go early because he knew that the lines would be so long if they went only days ahead, and one their way back home, he was hit. She knew she shouldn't have let him get the one gift that rolled out into the street, it wasn't even that important - or was it? She didn't look at it since the day he died. She couldn't bear to. To think that the object inside that box was the mere thing that caused his death, it hurt. However, Haneul has gotten over it and she has started to learn how to live without her lovely brother. She walked over to the box and the card that was attached to it. She remembered how he was writing in the card at the store and how she punished him for doing so telling him that he could wait until he got home but he said he couldn't wait. She took a deep breath then opened up the box first and inside it was a lovely necklace that had the initials DS on it with a pink heart next to it. DS? What could that possibly stand for? Confused, Haneul opened the letter that was attached to it.
Dear Dasom. Dasom-ah! It's almost our two year anniversary ㅋㅋ Remember when I asked you out your freshmen year and my sophomore year last Christmas? My friends made fun of me for dating a underclassmen but I couldn't resist you. The moment I first saw you, I can't even describe what happened in my stomach. There were butterflies everywhere and my belly kept doing cartwheels, I couldn't believe someone as beautiful as you existed. Am I being too cheesy? ㅋㅋ You know that's who I am, always being cheesy. So to celebrate our two year anniversary and a happy Christmas together, here's my gift! I had it specially made for you. I have to see you wearing it all the time, arasso? ㅋㅋ I love you Sommie and I hope to spend the rest of my life with you. Merry Christmas and happy two years. Love, Hajin (Your Baby Boo ㅋㅋ)
Haneul was shocked. She didn't know that her younger brother had a girlfriend, and of two years too.. Why didn't he ever tell her? And why did she never notice? He always said he was going out with a friend but he never said a girlfriend. Why didn't he tell her? Did he not want to tell his older sister? Was be too shy? She felt betrayed but at the same time wondering, how would this Dasom girl feel at the moment? Was she informed ever of his death? Maybe she should tell her? But how would she ever find this girl? Then she remember, the letter. He was writing on the envelope too, so an address should be there right? She quickly took the envelope and searched up the address that was there. She grabbed the present and the letter and headed out.
She followed to where the address lead her but it was to a flower shop. Did she have the right place? She went inside and asked the lady at the counter if this was their address and she said it was right. This isn't a house. She walked back up the counter and asked, "Is there a Dasom here?" The lady looked at her for a moment then as if she thought of something she snapped. "Ah, yes! She's a frequent guest of our flower shop. She always comes here to get flowers for her mother who passed away." Haneul nodded and thanked the lady. Why would Hajin write the address to here? Was there a reason he didn't just put it to her house? As she was walking out she bumped into a young girl who was walking in. "I'm sorry," Haneul said then she looked up. Could it be her?
