imagine: splinter walks through the lair looking for leo, because he was supposed to be in the dojo for solo training fifteen minutes ago. he finds raph lying on his stomach in the only room big enough for him. when asked if he’s seen his brother, raph just opens his mouth with an exaggerated “bleh” sound and leo falls out, angry and absolutely dripping in drool. leo whips around immediately and starts to tell him off, but raph only rolls his eyes and smirks. he is very obviously not listening.

A few ideas ~ What if whatever had caused Raph's change also gave his body new instincts pretaning to how his stomach works?

When he swallows his family, his body shuts off and gets rid of anyway that could harm them? But with others outside - classical stomach functions

It only works with those he regards as family like those pheromones you mentioned awhile back but with his internal body.

DUUUUUDE I love it!!!!! How you wrote them just aaah. So well done bro!! That was so enjoyable to read dude!! And its okay that it was short! It was still enjoyable and wonderfully detailed! Can't help but imagine Raph's bros becoming abit afraid of him. Like if Raph wants to eat one of them, most likely Mikey. And Mikey denies him. He's scared. He knows where all those people went. He's afraid of seeing it. Even though its been awhile, and it all should be gone. But Raph doesn't understand

Raph needs comfort. That was scary and disorienting for him, too. He wants the comfort of Mikey in his stomach, but his baby brother is afraid of him. And that makes Raph feel worse, and need it more.
