So going off on your response to that last ask (which i agree with btw)
Ive always thought something similar, at least it has become kind of increasingly obvious this year and that makes me think of how awkward that probably is? Like think about it, let’s assume jikook ARE a couple and obviously vmin always have stated and shown how much they love and care about each other as platonic soulmates. Doing these things to entertain a section of the fandom they know likes these interactions, doesn’t that make things awkward with vminkook? Like jimin’s boyfriend and his best friend in the world routinely entertain and subtly engage with a section of the fandom that is like 90% jimin antis, and that’s a generous estimate.
I know we can’t know for sure about anything here, we are just speculating on the observations we have on their behaviors and what they show us and none of us can claim to be 100% objective on these issues, since we will have our biases one way or another. But just thinking about the possibilities that this opens up kinda leaves me a little confused.
Then again i guess there’s no need for us to think about it too hard? Is not like we will know 100% one way or another about these things and they (vminkook) seem happy in their dynamic? At least i hope they are.
When it comes to this, I've always chosen to go with what I think is the simplest and most logical conclusion. They've talked about it, they know exactly what they're doing, and they don't have an issue with it. That's why they keep doing it.
If Jimin and Jungkook really are in a relationship, and if Taehyung genuinely cares about Jimin the way he's always said he does, then I find it very hard to believe that if Jimin was genuinely hurt by everything that happens online, they would knowingly continue doing things that made that worse. I just don't think that's a fair assessment of any of them. It doesn't fit with the people they've consistently shown themselves to be over the years.
At the same time, expecting Jungkook and Taehyung to simply stop interacting, stop posting photos together, or stop spending time together also feels incredibly unfair. They're friends. They've been friends for years. Why should they have to limit a perfectly normal friendship because other people choose to interpret it in a way that they probably never intended?
Because that's the thing for me. I don't know if everyone sees it this way, but when I watch the interactions between Jungkook and Taehyung, they feel... normal. There's never an implication. There's never this romantic or flirtatious undertone in what Taehyung and Jungkook post, the conversations they have, or the way they interact. I've genuinely never watched them and thought, "There's something going on here." That feeling has simply never been there for me.
That's also why I don't think they're the problem. The problem is the way some people consume that content. They already have a narrative in their heads, so everything gets filtered through that narrative. Every photo becomes proof. Every joke becomes evidence. Every interaction has to fit the conclusion they've already decided on. Once you approach things that way, there's almost nothing they could post that wouldn't be interpreted romantically.
So what would the alternative actually be? That Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung stop interacting publicly? That they stop posting pictures together? That they avoid being seen together just because some people are going to misinterpret it anyway? I don't think that's a reasonable expectation, and honestly, I don't think it would solve anything. If anything, people would probably start analysing the lack of interactions instead and build an entirely different narrative around that. We've seen that happen before. When they're together, it means something. When they're not together, that also means something. At that point, they're in a position where they literally can't win.
That's why I don't think the solution is for them to change their behaviour. I think the healthier conclusion is that they're simply living their lives, interacting the way they naturally would, and the rest is fandom projection.
So I'd like to believe that Jimin sees it that way too. I'd like to believe that's why he doesn't have a problem with Taehyung and Jungkook continuing to be themselves. I'd like to believe that's why Jungkook doesn't have a problem with it, and why Taehyung doesn't either. Maybe they've had those conversations that we'll obviously never know about. Maybe one day they sat down, talked about the fandom, talked about boundaries, and decided that they weren't going to let other people's interpretations dictate how they treated each other.
Or maybe they never even needed to have that conversation because, to them, there was never actually an issue to begin with. We don't know.
But personally, I'd rather believe they did have those conversations, or at the very least that they're all on the same page. That explanation feels far more consistent with the respect, trust, and affection they've consistently shown one another than the idea that they've silently allowed resentment or discomfort to build for years without ever addressing it.
