A Preparatory Prayer
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!” (Psalm 51:1-17)
My heavenly Father,
I humbly come to you with an open heart, and I thank you for the continual washing and purifying of my heart and mind, through the Blood of your son Jesus. I thank you for the Spirit of Grace that gives me access to your most holy place.
Dear Lord, I bring every unholy attitude, thought, or deed that I may have done that would displease you. Your word says that if I confess my sins, you are faithful and just to forgive me of that sin and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Dear Lord, I receive your forgiveness and cleansing through the Blood of Jesus; I also choose to forgive myself because the law of Life in Christ Jesus has liberated me from all condemnation that would be imputed to me through the law of sin and death.
Reveal to me through your Word, your divine purpose and will. It is my desire to pray the effectual fervent prayer in such a manner that it would bring the manifestation of your purpose and plan in the earth.
I thank you for giving me the understanding of the power of prayer. I humbly receive whatever assignment you give me to intercede for. Lord, help me to identify the help of the Holy Spirit as I pray; I open my heart to receive Words of Knowledge and Wisdom from Him as I pray. I thank you for counting me worthy to serve you through the ministry of prayer.
In Jesus Name Amen!
