It took him a long while as he was nervous due to Byakuya never showing hints and him having a huge fear of rejection, but it went smoothly as Makoto saved up enough money for a fancy dinner-date for them before he confessed awkwardly. ♡ Byakuya although having a bit more experience on relationships, doesn’t know how to properly show affection without it including money. So everytime he just gives Makoto money as a way of affection, Makoto never takes it though because he doesn’t want to use Byakuya and he wants Byakuya to learn how to actually show verbal or physical affection. Byakuya does love Makoto a lot, he just shows it in odd ways, and Makoto loves him for that. ♡ Sometimes Byakuya would make Makoto lay on his lap mainly because he likes tracing Makoto’s freckles (another headcanon) around his face gently as it’s sort of a strange stress-reliever for him. ♡ Makoto always loved preparing Byakuya’s work outfits to where he learned how to tie a tie before they began dating just so he could tie Byakuya’s tie for him in the mornings. Or he combed Byakuya’s hair in the mornings to make it perfect for him. ♡ Makoto tries to be less-controlling of Byakuya and never questions who he hangs out with when he doesn't show up at the usual time he comes back home from work. Byakuya on the other hand? Is normally overprotective due to the fear of losing Makoto one day with heavy abandonment issues. He told himself he’d never let Makoto go, and he refuses to let anyone hurt him emotionally, or physically. ♡ Byakuya is always trying to open up, and Makoto assures him that he doesn’t need to rush anything, so anytime Byakuya is sad he just gives a signal and they leave home if they aren’t already home and bundle up together without actually talking about what’s wrong unless Byakuya starts that conversation. ♡ Makoto though? He’s extremely open, but he’s too hesitant to ever tell Byakuya or anyone else so he closes himself up in the process, but Byakuya knows instantly and always questions or asks if he wants to talk about it and gives him an okay to speak on his issues no matter what.
